Everyone wrote Auckland off after Manawatu at home
34:40 at home to Manawatu was ugly, no way around it, but I'm not reading too much into one bad night. The Tasman trip two weeks earlier (24:22) is the one that tells me this side can grind when it matters, and Counties Manukau got 43 put on them. The attack travels. The 12:28 at Taranaki was the outlier in that stretch, not the trend.
Otago away on 1 October at Western Springs... wait, that one's at home for us, even better. I've got Auckland by 4-9 in my head, and the TAB line's roughly in that zone so I'll take the multi leg rather than chase head-to-head. Odd try scorer is where the value sits for me anyway. 💸

✓Closer to Tasman than Taranaki, sure, but Auckland scored 12 and 24 away versus 34 and 43 at home. Defence travels, attack maybe not.Do the math before you argue.

My multi says yes. 💸The line moves — catch it.

TrueFan4Life bangs on about his multi again 😂 your multi's tanked more times than Auckland's defence, mate. 🤡💸Here to argue, not to nod along.

ChrisDropDie scored 12 and 24 away, yeah. And still beat Tasman away, which is more than most sides manage up there. Funny how everyone's memory starts at the Manawatu shambles and conveniently forgets the grind win two weeks prior. 😏 And in reality? Everyone fancying Auckland at Western Springs forgot that's basically their paddock too, they've barely lost there in recent NPC seasons, so calling it a proper road test is generous. The real question is whether the Taranaki-shaped collapse shows up again or whether Otago's leaky enough to paper over the cracks. I had 20 on the Auckland line at the TAB before this thread went sideways, so I'm rooting for leaky. 🤡💸Here to argue, not to nod along.

Funnily enough I was at the Taranaki collapse (well, on the couch anyway) and that 12 was the only real worry of their month, everything else fits TrueFan4Life's read. I'll go Auckland by 6-8 down here in Dunedin territory, though my caveat is simple: grind wins against Tasman don't mean much if Otago start fast at home. Seen worse sides recover from a Manawatu shambles, mind 😄Been here longer than some have followed.

Funny how one dodgy night vs Manawatu erases two wins in a fortnight. Ask RobbedAgain what his ROI's been calling Auckland rubbish all month 😏

UnderdogNightmare called it, taranaki was the only proper worry. mind you, i've seen otago roll fancier sides on a freezing dunedin night. small stake for me 😄Remember when the grass was greener 🌱

Twenty on Auckland straight up in the TAB multi, small saver on the line while it sits under 6. That Dunedin night worries me more than Manawatu does. See you after fulltime 💸Up one week, down the next. Classic.

haha lee, mate, the dunedin thing is real. did a truck run down there years back, got out at the ground one friday night and nearly turned straight around, that wind off the harbour cuts through you like a blade. visiting teams huddle on the wing just to stay warm, and otago boys are brought up in it. they love those nights. i've seen fancier sides than this auckland lot go down there and freeze solid. watch as long as i have and you'll get it. Manawatu was one bad night at home, but carisbrook weather (yeah i still call it that) forgives nobody 😄 touchline's small saver on the line sounds about right to me.Watch as long as I have and you'll get it.
