Eight titles in a row, tell us where you were when the Crusaders
I was on the couch in Rotorua with my old man's jersey draped over the chair, same one I wore through the 98 and 99 finals. Back in the day we'd cram into the pub to watch these things, and by 2018 I figured I'd seen it all, then Christchurch starts belting out You Will Never Walk Alone and I've got goosebumps on goosebumps. Watch as long as I have and you'll get it: nights like that don't come around often, and eight in a row... the young lot never saw anything like it, and honestly neither had I 😄
Still remember the drive home after that final, grinning like an idiot the whole way. Where were you all, legends?

✓Mate, that anthem still gives me chills just thinking about it 😭🔥 I was at a mate's place in Gisborne, kids running wild, and the second the whole ground started singing I told everyone to shush and we just sat there with goosebumps. Got a bit dust in the eye tbh ah well, nowt to do. Reminds me of being a young fella driving down to Christchurch for a semi back in the day, the pub afterwards was mental, strangers hugging, blokes buying rounds all night. Eight in a row and we still sing louder than anyone. Proud as, always red and black through thick and thin 💪🙌 get in!!You don't abandon your own.

funny you both mention the anthem, because that's exactly where my head goes too. i was on the couch here in rotorua with a cuppa gone cold beside me, and when the whole ground started in on you'll never walk alone i had to get up and have a quiet word to myself out in the kitchen 😄 my old girl reckons i was chopping onions. i wasn't. but the memory that really stitches it together for me is the 2017 final in johannesburg, watching at my brother's place at some ungodly hour, us grinding it out against the lions and thinking, right, this lot are special. then a year later christchurch goes and makes it eight on the trot and the whole city sings like one bloke. back in the day at lancaster park we were lucky to get a decent pie and a muddy hill to stand on, so you young ones soak it up properly, seen it all before they said, and then the crusaders went and did that 😉Seen it all, lads.

I was 8 finals deep and somehow still had my flatmate convinced I was only a "fair weather" fan 😂 she found me singing YNWA in the kitchen with a burnt pie in hand that night, smoke alarm going off like a haka, didn't care one bit 🤣 eight in a row and I still can't cook, worth it 🍿
