Chiefs lose to a 3-loss team sitting 2nd
Took the Chiefs head-to-head plus them covering the line in my weekend multi, looked safe as anything for a side with 515 points in 14 games. All three legs landed except that one, losing at home to a team with three wins all season cooked the whole slip. 😭 NZ$40 gone, bankroll is everything and I should've known better after the last upset.

heard that mate, and I've buried a few slips in Hamilton myself over the years 😄 but here's the old proverb: never load a multi with a leg you haven't earned certainty on. Back in my day we'd put twenty NZ$ on the one result and sleep easy, these days everyone stacks four legs and hands the TAB a gift. Look at the table again, Josh. Chiefs have 11 wins and all that points juice, but three losses in 14 and an LWWWL run means they've been stinking it up against sides that should be easy beats all season. That form line was waving a red flag, no shame in missing it. My only advice after decades of watching good sides cop bad beats: keep the stake small enough that a weekend like this is a laugh, not a lesson. Buried one in Hamilton myself that weekend, twin boosters and all. Had the Chiefs straight head-to-head plus them covering the line, two legs of a four-leg multi, and the other two landed Friday night. Then they go and fall over at home to a three-loss side. Odds on both those legs were short as anything too, that's the salt in the wound. You take them thinking it's a banker, and the payout dies on the "safe" part of the slip. Worst of it, the form said load up: LWWWL going in, 515 points, only three losses all year. I've copped worse beats, mind - once lost a multi on a last-minute try when I needed a 13-point margin and got 12 — but this one stung because the whole weekend looked wrapped up by Saturday arvo. On and forgotten by Sunday, back on the horse the following week. That's punters for you 🍀💸The line moves — catch it.
