FINALLY the Otago trip is nearly here 🔥 Been counting down since that Manawatu disaster at Western Springs, tbh. 34:40 at HOME?? I still can't watch the highlights without swearing 🤬
Look, Tasman away was a proper grind and Counties got put to the sword, so the character's there, but Dunedin away is where you find out what you actually are. We lost at Taranaki earlier too, so this road form thing is becoming a real worry. I coached the juniors Saturday arvo and couldn't even focus tbh, head was already down south. Win this and I'll forgive the Manawatu sting. Lose it and ah well, nowt to do 💪

Dunedin's going to eat them? I had a tenner on Auckland in Dunedin last season and the line only moved half a point against them all week, so the market isn't as scared as FrontRow 😅 Manawatu home loss hurt but Tasman away 24:22 was a genuine gutsy cover. Otago at home giving a line probably around -6, I'd want more than that to touch it - value's on Auckland + the margin bands if they turn up like they did in Nelson. 💸Value over a big price 💸

Funny how Lucy's "market isn't scared" line aged about as well as that Manawatu defending 😂 Taranaki away, Manawatu at home - twelve points and a 34:40 loss in the same month is hardly the CV of a side ready to rock up at Carisbrook and walk it. Haha Lucy, that pie comment took me right back, back in the day we'd roll into Carisbrook, freezing wind coming off the south coast, and I'd pay for a hot dog that tasted like regret, and we loved every minute of it anyway 😉 I'm with Andy more than anyone else here though. Taranaki away, Manawatu at home, that's not the form sheet of a side I'd trust crossing Cook Strait. My caveat is this: the Tasman game showed me something. Going down to Nelson Moorlands country and grafting out 24:22 says the boys haven't packed it in entirely. Young lot never saw it, but tight ones like that build more backbone than comfortable wins like the Counties score suggests. Watch as long as I have and you learn the difference between luck and honesty, Tasman got beaten fair and square, no flukes involved.Watch as long as I have and you'll get it.

Lucy's "gutsy cover" at Tasman being framed as a green light is the funniest thing I've read all week 😂 they scraped home by two against a side that had just been beaten everywhere, then shipped 40 at their own ground a week later. Anyone putting TAB money on them in Dunedin off that form deserves the receipt. Sure thing, mate 🤡💸It's a lottery, not sport.

amy makes a fair point but i've watched footy at forsyth barr long enough to know logic and rugby don't always shake hands 😄 back in my day we'd turn up to Carisbrook certain of a result and leave frozen and embarrassed, then the one everyone wrote off turned into a classic. auckland shipping 40 at their own patch to manawatu tells you the form guide's worth about two bucks at the TAB. they edged tasman by two and put 43 on counties, so which side shows up down south on the 1st is anyone's guess. otago at home in early october weather is never a soft landing either. could be an ambush, could be the night they click. i'll hold my verdict till the fulltime whistle, and probably a day after that too 😉Been here longer than some have followed.
