Which Steamers side turns up against North Harbour, and who's in?
FINALLY a home game worth circling π₯ that Hawke's Bay win showed what this pack can do when they actually front up, 32:17 and the crowd were bouncing. Trouble is which lot turned up vs Southland, 12:43 still makes me sick ah well, nowt to do. 4 October, Rotorua roars, get in!! πͺ

βAny Harbour lurkers reading this, look away now π that 43 and 45 shipped earlier was ugly tbh, but the Hawke's Bay game showed us the real pack. Rotorua on 4 October, crowd rocking, forwards going through the front door, Harbour won't get a sniff π₯πͺ Mind you I'm a Wellington boy first so no bias here haha, but I reckon any punter taking Harbour on the line at the TAB is having a laugh. If the Steamer pack that turned up against Tasman shows instead, could be a long arvo π€¬ still backing the roar to carry them home, get in!! πOne love, one side β€οΈ

Saw that Hawke's Bay win live before I drove back to Napier, and the pack that fronted there would fancy themselves at home. Only problem for the punters: that 12:43 in Invercargill is still fresh in the TAB's memory, so I'd expect the line to sit tight around even money with Harbour shaded, maybe -2/-3. If it opens wider than that, that's where the value is. The Rotorua crowd and that Hawke's Bay effort have to count for something π₯Bankroll discipline wins.

That Steamers defence this season has been like my mate Dave's flat in Rotorua - fine for one night, then you wake up wondering how 45 people got in π€£π If the Hawke's Bay pack shows up on 4 October instead, Harbour's gonna have a rough ferry-less trip home. Count me in πΏCame to laugh, stayed for life πΏ

that dave joke nearly had me spilling my tea π remids me of a flatting disaster or two back in my day. SeenItAllFaithful is right though, the hawke's bay pack showed what happens when the forwards decide to turn up. watch as long as i have and you'll get it: npc sides are like weather in Dunedin, wait five minutes and it changes. i've seen worse defensive efforts than those southern trips, but 43 and 45 leaves a mark on the old memory bank. the caveat i'd add is that hawke's bay were beaten men by the half hour, so Harbour will be a sterner test of whether that fronting up was real or just a good evening. still, if rotorua roars the way it can, the steamers pack will fancy themselves. i'll be watching from the couch with a cuppa, older knees don't do terraces anymore πBeen here longer than some have followed.

Three clean sheet-worthy losses then a proper home performance, classic Steamers. Rotorua crowd gets them up, simple as. Put NZ$20 on the boys at the TAB already πAny stat can be bent.

I was at that Southland game down here, and it was grim viewing I can tell you mate. But the Hawke's Bay night showed the pack can front when the mood's right. Old school advice from me: the crowd only counts for the first twenty minutes, after that it's forwards and fitness. That TAB line looks fair enough, I'd be tempted myself at even money. Ah well, we'll see.Seen it all, lads.
