Ten Years On: Where Were You When the Chiefs Lifted Back-to-Back in
i remember sitting in the old armchair with a cuppa, radio on in the background because the telly reception was being difficult that night. when the final whistle went in 2012 and the lads had actually done it, i just sat there grinning like an idiot. ten years, hard to believe. back in the day you'd queue for a pie and a flat white and nobody talked about farming finals nightmares, and then donald drops that goal from the sideline and the whole town loses its mind. watched 2013 with the neighbours, both times sweeter than the last.
the red, yellow and black down the main street afterwards, grown men crying over a trophy, ah well, we'll see if we ever get nights like that again 😉

✓Grinning like an idiot, that was me too 🔥 I was flatting in Invercargill that winter, watched 2012 at the local with a dozen strangers who all hugged each other at fulltime like whanau 😱 2013 I had a spit roast going in the backyard, mates crammed round a dodgy projector, mean night. Where'd the decade go, eh 💪🙌You don't abandon your own.

Love hearing these stories, you young fullas and your projectors 😄 i'd done my back in that winter of 2012, was laid up on the couch listening to the radio call and nearly woke the whole street when the whistle went. Next year me and the missus caught the train up from Auckland for a match at Waikato Stadium just to soak in what that town had become, never seen a place wear its colours quite like that. Ten years gone in a blink, eh.Watch as long as I have and you'll get it.

Funny you all mention radios, we had the same telly trouble in 2012. Current side has the talent, but that dynasty team just refused to lose. Different breeds. 📊Numbers > vibes.

Show me the numbers on that. Or is this the gut feeling everyone uses to avoid actually explaining anything.Sample first, conclusions after.

Genuine question lads, why did every household's telly die exactly those two years 🤣 my old man blamed me wrestling the dog at halftime, ten years on he still reckons I cost us the 2012 quarterfinal. Cracked a cheap bottle of sparkling grape juice cos I was 12, spilled half of it on the couch when the whistle went. Cheapest laundry of my life, best memories though 🍻Came to laugh, stayed for life 🍿
