Right, be honest lads, our loose forward depth is thinner than a
Word is a certain sevens fella who shall remain nameless is sniffing around for a 15s deal again π€‘ put two and two together lads. Loose forward depth thinner than my TAB balance after a bad weekend, and suddenly this rumour pops up? πΈ I've already thrown $20 on it happening at long odds, call me mad π

β"Suddenly this rumour pops up". Sourced where, mate? Some Twitter rumour mill? Show me the numbers, or at least one named outlet, before we draft him into the squad.

Doesn't matter where the rumour came from tbh, if there's even a whiff of a sniff we should be first in line π₯ Look at our loosies, one knock in the pre-season and we're scraping the barrel. A sevens convert with that engine and that footwork crashing off the back? Sign him tomorrow, whatever it costs πͺ Remember what he did in the sevens jersey, bloke's got gas AND mongrel. Imagine him with the All Blacks camp experience around our young fellas too, that rubs off ya know π Who cares if the rumour's half baked, ah well, nowt to do but dream, and I'm dreaming big here π€You don't abandon your own.

I could be wrong, but a sevens convert coming back to the loose forward role is a fit only on paper. By the time he re-learns scrum work, defensive channels and lineout duties, we'd need him to be a finished article in round one, and at his age that window is tight. π One injury doesn't make the depth thin on its own; look at the whole pre-season list before panicking.Do the math before you argue.

Chris old mate, every big sevens name came back and got treated like a finished article in round one... in someone's head π I'd lump NZ$20 on it before I'd trust our current loosie depth, honestly π€‘Here to argue, not to nod along.

Chris is closest to the mark so far. Sevens to 15s in a loose forward role sounds good, but condition it on him getting a full preseason and cover depth behind him, we need numbers, not one saviour.Numbers are honest, takes aren't.

Nah Chris, remember when that sevens fella tore up club footy here a few years back? He didn't need a full preseason, just ate tackle walls for brekkie π± If he signs I'm getting the jersey, through thick and thin lads π₯ ah well, nowt to do but wait on the news tbhYou don't abandon your own.

SeenItAllFaithful, club footy tackle walls and Super Rugby defensive systems are two different species, mate - I could be wrong, but the tape usually sorts that out by round three. And GoTheDistance, NZ$20 says you'd change your tune the first time he gets buried at a cleanout. Depth-wise we still need three bodies regardless of whoever the rumour mill fancies, that part I'll grant you.Do the math before you argue.

Feels like we've done this dance before, aye - every couple of years the sevens rumour pops up and half of you are buying jerseys before he's even put pen to paper π half the big names they whispered about back in the day never signed a thing, and the ones who did took a full season to find their feet. time will tell, lads, that's all it ever does.Seen it all, lads.

Feels like we've done this dance before, aye - every couple of years the sevens rumour pops up and half of you are buying jerseys before he's even put pen to paper π half the big names they whispered about back in the daβ¦@Ultra88 guilty as charged aye π I coach the juniors up here and even our blokes reckon he's coming, half of Masterton's already picked him in their fantasy sides. Truth is until he's in a Chiefs jersey eating cleanouts at Waikato Stadium I'm believing nothing. Rebuild depth first, one sevens convert ain't fixing our loose forward gap π₯In the stands since I was a kid.
