Rugby Park on 2 October, who's in for Southland vs Northland?
Finally!! Someone made the thread π₯ Friday 2 October, Rugby Park under lights, our last home night of the season and I'm already counting the days.
Was at the Bay of Plenty game, 43:12 and the whole place was rocking, best night at Invercargill Rugby Park in ages. Then three straight gutting losses to Counties Manukau, Taranaki and Canterbury and honestly I can't even look at that Canterbury scoreline π± 21:34, put it behind us lads!
One last chance to send the season off with a roar. I'm driving up, filling the ute, taking a couple of the juniors I coach with me, they still talk about the BoP night π
Who else is in?? SOUTH-LAND πΆ south-land πΆ let's pack the place out!! πͺ

βHold up Sam, that 43:12 was one good night and suddenly you're talking like it's a season π We're coming down from WhangΔrei in numbers and honestly after shipping three straight losses yourselves you NEED that night more than we do. See you under the lights, don't go quiet when we turn up π₯πͺYou don't abandon your own.

Jess rolling down from WhangΔrei in numbers, good on you. Those three straight losses were all on the road, 130-odd points shipped, but the BOP night showed what this lot look like at Rugby Park with the crowd behind them. I'm leaving the TAB alone till the line lands - if Southland get a start at their own patch that's where the value sits, my multi could use a home night after backing them away all month πValue over a big price πΈ

WhangΔrei convoy vs Invercargill cold, whoever wins the parking lot boot war wins the night π€£ I'm bringing a thermos and zero expectations chur
-
Maybe I'm wrong but didn't Chloe just say those three losses were all away? Kind of weakens your point Jess π still learning this season's form honestly.Learn something new every day.
-
Coached the juniors at Rugby Park for years - that place under lights just hits different π₯ we either show up that night or the season's gone. See yous there π

Can someone explain simply how anyone rates us after shipping 130 points away? π Don't laugh, but that BOP night feels like ages ago to me. One good home game then three hidingettes on the road. Is the crowd at Rugby Park really enough to turn that around, or are we all just hoping? πLearn something new every day.

UltraUltra the crowd doesn't tackle, but you just know Rugby Park on a Friday night lifts our lot... 43:12 proved what they CAN do πͺ ah well, nowt to do but show up and roar ππ₯

Don't laugh guys but I'm keen and all, just a young fella driving down from Wellington π does the crowd really lift them though? We shipped 130 points in three away games after that 43:12 BOP night, so is Friday hope or just hype? πNew here, soaking it up.

Was at the BOP game and the noise that night was something else π± proper eerie how quiet it went the last month though. MikeBeliever, crowd can't tackle but under lights at home these fellas remember who they are, Canterbury away is a different beast tbh. Sweet as if you're driving down mate, buy a raffle ticket π₯ ah well, nowt to do but be there FridayYou don't abandon your own.

Go easy on me but wasn't Canterbury away always going to be ugly? π Wonder if home crowds flattered them vs BOP more than we admit. π€
-
Lucy fair point but BOP night was real, you just know it π€ they hammered them 43:12, that dont happen on flattery alone. Away trips since have been rough ah well, nowt to do. Friday under lights at Rugby Park though, Im in, driving down, backing them all day ππ₯On the terraces since I was a kid.

Took the missus up to Eden Park for a Bledisloe night years back, certain we'd win, came home quiet as mice π what I'm saying is expectations have a way of Humbling you. Canterbury away was always going to sting, that's no measure of this mob. Rugby Park under lights though - been to enough of those to know something switches on in them. Be there Friday, and we'll find out together πWatch as long as I have and you'll get it.

That 43:12 night sounds unreal, wish I'd been there π Would anyone mind explaining simply why away form drops off so hard after a home win like that? Genuinely keen to come along on the 2nd if someone can tell me how tickets at Rugby Park usually work, cheers πNew here, soaking it up.
