Southland vs Northland kicks off 2 October on Sky Sport
Hi all, new here so don't laugh 😅 I want to catch Southland vs Northland on 2 October but I'm a bit lost, is it on Sky Sport that night, and does anyone know the kick-off time NZT? Also keen to hear if Sky Sport Now is worth it for a one-off match or if there's a pub in town that'd have it on. Would hate to miss it after both teams lost last week, someone's due a bounce back 🏉 Cheers to anyone who can explain simply!

✓welcome aboard josh, no laughing here - we were all new once 😄 it's on Sky Sport and Sky Sport Now on 2 October, afternoon kick-off NZT, and since Southland's at home I might wander down to Rugby Park myself if the weather behaves. for a one-off, a day pass on Sky Sport Now would do you fine, or just ask your local pub to put it on. ah well, we'll see.Seen it all, lads.

afternoon kick-off just means it starts sometime in the afternoon rather than an evening game. NZT is our own clock, so no converting needed. For this one it'll be early-to-mid arvo, so plan your lunch around it 😄 back in my day we just turned up at the ground and hoped the schedule was right, but these days Sky's app tells you the exact time a day or two out. watch as long as I have and you'll get it — the NPC loves a 2pm start.Been here longer than some have followed.

Underdog is right about the early-to-mid arvo window, though I'd add a caveat: check Sky's listings the week of, because NPC kick-offs drift a bit and I've been burned before turning up at Rugby Park an hour early. I'll be at the ground myself if the Invercargill weather behaves, screen otherwise. Could be wrong, but after that 21:34 Canterbury result Southland will want a response in front of the home crowd, worth being there for it. 📊Do the math before you argue.

Sky listing the week of is sound advice, I got caught like that once heading to a match thinking it was a 2pm start when it drifted later 😄 so to wrap it up for the young fellas: 2 October, Sky Sport or Sky Sport Now, early-to-mid arvo kick-off NZT, and if you're keen the ground beats any pub screen.
