Right, lads. Who's our dream second five-eighth for next season?
Word is a certain Crusaders playmaker might come loose if the cap clears about NZ$400k - and I'd punt that money on him pulling on red and black tomorrow π Half the clubrooms reckon I'm dreaming, which tells you how much they know. Imagine the bloke carving up out wide at One NZ Stadium. Wait for the fanboys to pile in telling me the cap won't allow it πΈ

βNZ$400k of cap space that nobody's named a source for? Source on that, Andy, or is this another clubrooms special?
-
Sign him and I'll paint the clubhouse myself π₯ he'd run that midfield all day, imagine the juniors watching that π± backing this one hardOne love, one side β€οΈ

Andy, small sample though, clubroom rumours rarely clear the cap check. He's 30+ and we'd pay NZ$400k for two seasons; I want a younger second five with our own pathways.

Andy, there's a nuance here you keep skipping: NZ$400k for a 30-something inside the cap means we gut two spots elsewhere, and the year he's under contract matters more than the dream. Fix nailed it, pathways lads cost a fraction and stay five seasons. I'll believe the rumour when someone names the source. πNumbers > vibes.

Funny how everyone's suddenly an accountant when a bit of hope turns up π back in my day we'd have signed him without a spreadsheet and worried about the cap later. Fix, mate, pathways are lovely but they don't win derbies at One NZ Stadium. A fella who's controlled Test matches does. I've seen worse NZ$400k spent on far less, that's for sure.Remember when the grass was greener π±

I'd lump on him in a heartbeat, Fix's spreadsheet can wait π He reads a derby like a TAB form guide, juniors would learn plenty just watching him at trainings. Here to argue, not to nod along.

Fix, mostly with you on this one. NZ$400k for a 30-something is a lot of cap for maybe two good seasons, and the pathways lads deserve first crack. My caveat: if the deal is one year at less than that headline figure, I'd take it, purely because our midfield looked lost when the derby pressure came on last season. Missed the second half of the final myself, was stuck at a mate's place in Masterton with the stream buffering, still not over it.Sample first, conclusions after.

I coach the juniors and I'd still take him, imagine the kids learning off a bloke like that π₯ But only on a one-year deal, Rob's right there πͺHeart with the team, head on pause.

Seen this exact rumour two or three times over the years and the paperwork never quite lands, back in my day we lost a big name to a Japanese deal at the eleventh hour after six weeks of clubroom certainty π if NZ$400k genuinely frees up and it's a one-year deal, I'm all in, but time will tell, as my old man used to say. πBeen here longer than some have followed.

One year deal and I'm with you all, midfield needs that steel πͺ coached enough juniors to know what a bloke like that teaches the kids, get it signed πOne love, one side β€οΈ
