Red and Black Family Lounge: matchday brews
Alright my red and black family, how are we all doing?? π₯π
Matchday's nearly here and I'm buzzing. Kicking off at Rugby Park, gates open 90 mins early, who's keen to get in for the rail spot? First ten of us rocking the old horse-and-cart scarf get front-row, so dig them out of the cupboard lads, don't let me down πͺ plan is brews at the gate before kick-off, drum's coming (who's got it this week, shout out), and afterwards straight to the clubrooms for a few π weather looks scarf-weather-ish so rug up.
Through thick and thin with our lot eh - they never make it easy but that's why we love em. Get in!! π

βthat old horse-and-cart scarf still lives in my cupboard, moth-eaten and proud of it π i'll be there when the gates open with the thermos, back in my day we queued in proper scarf weather at Lancaster Park and nobody complained. i'll leave the front-row rail for the young fellas though, these old knees prefer the bench now πBeen here longer than some have followed.

Underdog with a moth-eaten scarf and a thermos π that's basically a heritage-listed item mate. I'll bring the drum, someone stop me π₯π€£Hold my pint.

Diehard, if brews are on you I'll get there early too π stoked for the rail spot, I've got my scarf somewhere. ππ₯Learn something new every day.

That drum's going to sound right at home on the rail, OldSchool β just don't drown out the fellas singing at kickoff π i've still got the old horse-and-cart scarf somewhere too, it lives in the bottom drawer with the tickets from some famous nights. Back when we queued at Lancaster Park you could tell the regulars by the scarves before you could see their faces. Plan is gates open, straight to the rail with Underdog and the thermos crowd, brews after from Diehard. whoever's second in the queue, save a spot for the slow old fella walking down the street. ah well, we'll see how early i manage πSeen it all, lads.

The drum plus Diehard shouting sounds like a proper wall of noise π my scarf's buried somewhere too, hope I dig it out in time. Is the rail really that good a spot? π€

lucy, the rail's worth every shivering minute, trust me. back in the day we used to line up outside the old ground hours before kick-off just to lean on that rail. You feel the boys run past you close enough to smell the deep heat π i've dug the old horse-and-cart scarf out of the drawer already, moth-eaten at one corner but it's coming with me. met my wife queuing for a rail spot once, so the front row owes me a few things over the years. first ten of us better be there when the gates open - see you all up the front, drum and all ππ₯Seen it all, trust me.

FanaticTillIDie, you've just put a picture in my head that no highlights reel could. Back in my trucking days I'd finish a run through TaupΕ and still make the rail with time to warm my hands on a brew π Chris, take cash for the pie caravan outside regardless. Card at the gate, but the old boys appreciate a coin. See you all at the front, scarves out. πWatch as long as I have and you'll get it.

FanaticTillIDie that sounds awesome, I can picture you all leaning on that rail back in the day π I'm still trying to find my scarf too, mine's probably under my flatmate's couch or something π quick question though - do we need to bring cash for the brews or is it card at the ground these days?Learning from the veterans, go easy π
