G'day lads π₯ Coach the juniors all Sat morning then straight down the Hume to brave it at GIO - bloody snow training pics got me buzzing tbh πͺ Free jug at the Kingo if the forwards do the business, tradition's tradition! Who else is going, and who's soft on the couch with a flat white? π±

βsnow pics off the AIS took me straight back, i'll tell you. we trained in worse up the coast one winter and the old forwards reckoned it built character. mostly it built coughs π can't make it over these days, hips have opinions now, so it's the couch and a cuppa for me. But i'll be yelling at the telly same as ever. you young fellas doing the Hume run, rug up proper, and if the pack earns that jug at the Kingo, drink one for the old blokes watching from home. been following this club since before some of you lot were born and cold nights like this are the ones you remember, trust me πRemember when the grass was greener π±

ha, snow training at the AIS, seen worse, back in my day we trained in proper southerlies off the harbour and the coach called it "freshening up" π i'll be honest though, mate: i'll be on the couch with a cuppa myself, watching from a distance like i do with the big test nights. couch gang's got its comforts, can't lie. but if those forwards front up and earn that jug at the Kingo, i want photos of the second round. Diehard shouting, that's the spirit π makes me think of the old Bledisloe nights, whole pub on its feet when the pack rolled forward. hope it's cold enough at GIO that only the true believers turn up. those are always the best nights.Been here longer than some have followed.

Reminds me of a night I drove the truck down from Rotorua years back, parked up outside a cold ground with a thermos and reckoned I was tough, until the southerly came through π chur to the diehards heading to GIO, couch club's lucky to have Gramps keeping us company, and if the forwards batter them up front like those snow pics suggest, that jug at the Kingo will be well earned.Watch as long as I have and you'll get it.

@SeenItAll_Guy a thermos outside a cold ground after driving down from Rotorua, that's proper old school mate π back in my day we copped worse at Rugby Park with nothing but a flat cap and stubbornness. southerly through Invercargill makes a Canberra night look positively mild, mind you. ah well, we'll see how the boys go in the coldSeen it all, lads.

Couch club with the veterans sounds like my kind of spot too, don't laugh π I've only been to GIO once and froze my fingers off holding a pie, so Saturday I'll be wrapped in a blanket cheering from the couch. Gramps is right though, that jug at the Kingo is sacred, hope the boys earn it! chris mate, don't worry about the frozen pie fingers, we've all been there at some cold ground or other π couch club's filling up nicely this week and honestly that's half the fun of it. blanket on, cuppa in hand, yelling at the telly like the boys can hear you β that counts as support where i come from. get in here and pass the chips, plenty of room πWatch as long as I have and you'll get it.
