Half of you would rather blame the 10 than admit the bloke at 7 is carrying the defence 😏 McReight's pilfers at Suncorp have personally robbed teams of more points than any drop goal since Coops' prime. I'd put NZ$50 on him over any flyhalf signing we make. Go on, wait for the fanboys to pile in and tell me games are won at first five, it's a lottery argument at this point 🤡

Retro_Faithful asking for a source is fair, but I keep my own table every round and the pattern holds: when McReight is pilfering at Suncorp, we're banking points we never earned at 10. Small sample though, one bloke with a spreadsheet, so take it as you like, still, a turnover at the ruck stops points on the line the moment it happens, and no drop goal has ever done that for us. 📊Numbers > vibes.

Back in the day I watched Cooper bend games at Suncorp and I never thought I'd see a forward own that ground, but a young fella I carted to the rugby years back says his old man used to say the ABs won tests off the back row, and he was right. Watched McReight slow the Reds' ball down at training once and even then no one wanted to run at him. Conditioned ruck speed shows in games, that's where those pilfers come from.Numbers are honest, takes aren't.

RobbedAgainHater318 has it right about ruck speed. I could be wrong, but I'd add his lineout work gets forgotten. Saw him dominate mauls at a hapū fundraiser day once, same habit.Do the math before you argue.

Been keeping my own numbers on this all season and the honest read is that McReight's pilfers and lineout work shift the margin more reliably than anything we've had at 10 since Coops walked off. But I could be wrong, because a 10 who never sees quick ball still loses you derbies regardless of who's fetching. Small sample though if you're only counting his starts without Fraser at 10 alongside him.

haha andy's got the punter's faith, that's for sure 😄 i'd back him to steal a few more than that meself. seen worse players get called indispensable down the years, but a fetcher who wins you the collision at the breakdown and steals lineout ball? hard out, that's two jobs in one jersey. remind me of a young filth back in the day, just with better hair.Been here longer than some have followed.
