GloryDaysLegend, you're actually onto it tbh, Harbour didn't just "want it" more, they slowed the ball down at every ruck and made Otago play behind the gainline all night π€ when your fast men are taking the ball standing still, that 107-point run means nothing. That's exactly why Thursday's under the roof suits them π₯ no weather excuses, ball on the deck, backs running onto it. If Auckland's forwards get rolled like Tasman's did, the roof crowd will be bouncing and Otago by plenty. If the Blues boys bully them up front like Harbour did, could get ugly again. Honest answer? to the young fella asking about ruck speed, no such thing as a dumb question in this game, keep asking. back in my day we just called it "clearing the mess" and copped a boot for slow ball π and to the wider question of which otago turns up thursday, watch as long as I have and you'll get used to never knowing. seen sides hammer two opponents then go missing the week after plenty of times. even the great edden park nights had their stinkers either side. expectations are a funny thing, they've tricked me more often than any opposition has. harbour showed you can strangle the fast stuff, and auckland will have watched that tape. my money stays in my pocket, my seat under the roof stays booked. that's all the certainty you'll get from me πBeen here longer than some have followed.
