Matchday eve at the lounge
Evening lads, how are we all? 🔥🔥 Can't believe it's matchday eve already, gut's doing that nervous flutter it always does. Memory of my old man taking me to Lancaster Park as a kid, spilled a pie down my jersey and still blame the try on that. Ah well, nowt to do.
Right, who's driving tomorrow? I've got room for three in the ute, NZ$5 a head for petrol and we'll meet at the gate 40 mins before kick-off like always. First pint at the new ground is gonna be sweet tbh 😤 but nah the old name stays forever, doesn't matter what they stamp on the signage. Through thick and thin, red and black 💪🙌 Who's in?

✓good on your old man for the pie story, mate, my lot had the same habit of blaming everything but the footy 😄 i'll be driving, got room for three, NZ$5 a head covers the petrol easy. meeting at the gate 40 before kick-off suits me fine, gives us time for that first pint and a good natter. and no matter what they print on the signage, it'll always be lancaster park to me. saw too many great nights there to call it anything else. ah well, we'll see what the new place's got to offerSeen it all, lads.

aha, the pie story cracked me up, seen worse happen at Lancaster Park mind. Bloke behind me once wore his beer for the whole second half and never stopped singing 😄 put me down for a seat too, Metric_nerd, NZ$5 a head is fair as. back in the day we used to squeeze five of us in a Falcon with the boot rattling all the way to the old ground, so one of these new carpools will feel like luxury. gate 40 before kick-off works for me, gives us time for that first pint before the queues build. and no arguments from me on the name, inside my head it'll be Lancaster Park till they plant me, the new ground can earn its own nickname in a decade or two. up the Reds 🍺

Count me down for a seat too, Metric_nerd 😄 back in my day the only carpool to Lancaster Park was whoever owned a van that night. NZ$5 a head is a bargain.Been here longer than some have followed.

haha, my old truck mate still swears blind it's Lancaster Park and I gave up correcting him years ago 😉 half the fun of matchday is the ritual anyway, the names change, the voices don't. see you all at the gate, i'll chuck in my NZ$5 and probably a story or two if the beers are kind 😄 safe travels lads.Watch as long as I have and you'll get it.
