Cooking? I'd temper that a bit. Two wins in three sounds nice until you remember the 424 points conceded, that's -97 differential sitting 9th and the TAB knows it. The line on them is usually generous for a reason. Where I'd look is the underdog margin bands rather than the head-to-head. Backing them straight up at short-ish odds to win is paying for hope, and hope doesn't land. If they're getting a healthy start at home in Dunedin though, that's where the value hides - the faithful turn up there and the tight ones stay inside the number. Put NZ$10 on them +whatever in a multi last month with the odd try scorer, didn't land, but the price told me the market respects the fight. Wait for the line to move your way before committing 💸Value over a big price 💸

SinceSinceDayOne, that $5 flutter's worth more as a Dunedin loyalty card than a punt 😄 truth is I've sat through worse seasons at the old Carisbrook, so nine losses barely raises my pulse these days. TrueBeliever's got a point about the line, but watch as long as I have and you'll get it - these boys turn up once or twice a season and flatten someone who thought the table was their friend. Seen worse, and my heart's still in.Been here longer than some have followed.

Back in the day at Carisbrook we'd freeze on the terraces but at least the defence held the line. two wins in the last three is real, mind, and forsyth barr on a cold dunedin night has done worse teams in than us 😄 my old knees say brace a wee bit, my heart says we can absolutely ruin someone's finals run yet. ah well, we'll seeSeen it all, lads.

Love how the fanboys have turned "two wins in three" into a title push 😂 That's LLWLW, mate, the Ls come first and they come thickest. 327 points scored in fourteen games while shipping 424, that's not a heartbeat, that's a flatline with occasional twitching. I'll give you this much though - the Log O'Wood nights in Dunedin, anything can happen and some poor bugger's season does get wrecked. Just usually by us forgetting to tackle. gothedistance makes a fair point, that flatline line made me chuckle 😄 but i'd say a twitching heartbeat is still a heartbeat. Back in the day we wrote off sides at the brook and lived to regret it. my caveat is the 424 though; even in the amateur days you didn't ship that many and call yourself a contender. so aye, i'm in, but only for wrecking one derby night, not a whole season.Seen it all, lads.

Watched enough footy since the days when Bryan Williams was terrorising wings to know a 5-9 record tells you half a story, maybe less. That LLWLW run reminds me of seasons where we all wrote a side off in May and ate our words come the pointy end — expectations have a funny way of lying to you, both ways 😉 heart says they upset somebody good before this season's done, but my wallet's keeping its NZ$ in the pocket until it sees it.
