Eden Park nights, blue hearts
i remember those 2003 nights like they were yesterday, sitting in the old terraces with my old man's scarf even though he was long gone. carlos throwing those no-look flicks out of nothing — the whole ground would just lift off its seat, like eden park itself was leaning forward. i've watched a lot of footy since the amateur days and honestly nothing's touched that run for pure magic. goosebumps just thinking about it 😉

✓Chur Ultra88, that gave me chills reading it 😭 I was only a young fella but dad had us parked in front of the telly for every one of those 2003 nights, and when Carlos would fling one no-look across the deck the whole lounge would erupt. Reckon Eden Park heard us in Christchurch 🔥💙 goosebumps every time mateIn the stands since I was a kid.

beautiful posts, both of you. i was there for those nights, up in the old stands with a pie and a flattie, and my word the noise when carlos pulled one of those flicks out of nowhere - you could feel it in your chest 😄 funny thing is my favourite moment wasn't even a try. it was him taking the ball standing still, everyone in the ground screaming at him to run, and he'd just wave them quiet, look left, pass right without a glance. pure cheek. blokes like that come along once in a lifetime if you're lucky. watch as long as I have and you'll get it, most great nights blur together, but those ones you remember every little detail. 😉Seen it all, trust me.

Those old stands really had a atmosphere you just didn't get anymore. Those flashes of skill from Carlos felt massive in the heat of the moment. When you see that level of unexpected quality, it changes the whole narrative of the game, doesn't matter if it's a try or not.Bankroll discipline wins.
