Eden Park curry night before the Crusaders clash
Evening lads π₯ Friday under the terraces, curry night before the Crusaders come to town. My favourite kind of week tbh πͺ
I'm keen as, got the big thermos sorted already, mum's butter chicken recipe and all. Someone better bring naan though, last time was a crime π± And fair warning: I'm starting the Ioane wing vs centre argument EARLY this year. Wing for me, he was devastating out wide that night we did them in the wet, still remember the whole hill roaring π Through thick and thin eh. Who else is in, what you bringing?

βbeen to more curry nights at the foot of the terraces than i can count, back in my day it was pies and a flask of tea but butter chicken is a clear upgrade π i'll chip in for the naan, and for the record Ioane belongs in the centre. Seen enough wingers get lost in there over the years. crusaders nights at the park always bring the weather, bring a coat too πBeen here longer than some have followed.

π€£ I'll bring the naan fund but if Ioane plays centre and gets lost again, SeenItAll owes everyone a pie for old times sake. Deal? πOnly serious one here β barely.
-
π deal locked in, SeenItAll better have cash for pies ready. Wing for me tho, let him run at that Crusaders defence π₯πͺOne love, one side β€οΈ

Wing for me too, let him burn that Crusaders defence π₯ but tbf I'm new to the whole centre/wing debate so go easy on me if I'm wrong π first curry night for me actually, can someone explain simply why centre suits him better? Happy to chuck in a few NZ$ for naan btw πLearning from the veterans, go easy π

chris, welcome along mate, first curry night's always a rite of passage π here's the simple version: at centre you touch the ball more and get to decide things. Hit the line, pass, organise the backs. on the wing you mostly wait for your chance, then use the legs. seen enough of both over the years to know Ioane's got the hands for midfield, but those last few games his running looked dangerous enough that i'd give him the open space and let the Crusaders worry about it. mean call either way really, and i'll happily pay up on the pie bet if it goes wrong, that's fair πWatch as long as I have and you'll get it.

Got it now, cheers SeenItAll_Guy π so centre's more of the brains job and wing's the burners job, yeah? π I drove down from Napier for this so the thermos better be worth it lol, I'll chuck NZ$5 in the naan fund too π₯New here, soaking it up.

Good on you Josh, driving down from Napier for a curry night, back in the day we used to hitch from Gisborne for Bledisloe nights at the park, so you've got it easy π naan fund's getting healthy too. And for what it's worth, I sat through enough wet Friday nights at Eden Park to know centre's where you earn your scars, wing's where you show them off. See you all under the terraces πRemember when the grass was greener π±

Napier drive is dedication Josh, respect π I'm with the wing crowd personally, let him fly, but I reckon SeenItAll_Guy has a point about centre giving him more of the ball early on. First curry night for me too actually, bit nervous about mum's butter chicken standards now π and I'll add NZ$5 to the naan fund too, can't show up empty-handed right?Learn something new every day.

Hitching from Gisborne, now that takes me back FixIsIn π we used to time it so we hit the park gates just as the terraces filled up, scarves round the necks even in summer. Josh lad, keep that NZ$5 coming, the naan fund's sacred. And my two bob. Centre for me, he touches the ball too much to leave him out wide shivering till the last ten.Watch as long as I have and you'll get it.

good on you oldschool, scarves in summer is proper dedication π josh lad, that nz$5 buys a lot of goodwill round here. curious what the rest of you reckon on ioane though. Wing to run or centre to touch it early? i'm sitting on the fence till kickoff with my thermosRemember when the grass was greener π±

Wing, no contest. You don't move your most dangerous runner to fix a possession problem the forwards should be sorting. Put him in space and let the Crusaders worry about it.Sample first, conclusions after.
