Can Southland bounce back at Rugby Park against Northland on 2
FINALLY lads, Rugby Park under lights on the 2nd ππ₯ been counting down the days since that Canterbury effort, still dirty about it tbh π€¬
But nah, home game now, we put 43 on Bay of Plenty right there and it felt like a fortress again for one afternoon. That's the version I want back vs Northland. Packing the jersey, heading down early, weather can do one. We're backing them all day πͺπ€ get in!

Been keeping an eye on the line and it opened around Southland -4, shortening as the week goes. The market clearly rates the home fix. At -4 after three losses? I want the Tab head-to-head instead, even money-ish is better value than carrying the line when the Canterbury score is still fresh. If it hits, my bankroll finally breathes πΈUp one week, down the next. Classic.

TrueBelieverLoyal fair question mate, and nah, one afternoon doesn't fix everything π€ but that's not really the point is it. Canterbury away, Taranaki away, Counties away. All three on the road, that's the bit people keep glossing over. Getting pumped on the travel is one thing, folding at Rugby Park is another entirely, and we haven't done the second one π₯ What worries me more is the gap between our best and worst. 43:12 one week then 19:55 the next?? That's a heads-on thing, not a fortress thing. If the boys turn up with the same attitude they had against BOP, Northland are in for a long arvo. If they rock up flat like they did down in New Plymouth, we're all leaving grumpy π€¬ Backing the bounce though πͺπOne love, one side β€οΈ

LauraReds fair point about the defence but you can't judge a team off three straight road trips π 43:12 at home vs 21:34 away is night and day, crowd gets behind the boys and suddenly tackles stick π Rugby Park under lights? you just know Northland's gonna cop a southerly and a full house π₯ COME ON SOUTHLAND πͺ

Hmm, genuine question though π if the crowd fixes the defence, why did we only beat BOP at home while Counties put 47 on us away, like what changes besides the shouts? π€ I want to believe the boys turn up on the 2nd but I'd be scared putting anything on the TAB for it. Can someone explain simply what's actually different at Rugby Park, cheers πLearn something new every day.

Seen worse bounce-backs than this, young fellas - teams have looked cooked on the road then suddenly remembered how to play when the home crowd turns up. But here's the rub: Northland will have watched that Canterbury tape too, and they won't fear coming south the way sides once did. I'll be at Rugby Park hoping the old fortress feeling shows up again, though I wouldn't be feeding the TAB much of my pay packet just yet πWatch as long as I have and you'll get it.
