FINALLY the 4th of October is nearly here and I've been counting down the days since that Tasman hiding π€
Nah look, three losses on the bounce after that Hawke's Bay win hurts bad, everyone can see the Steamers' defence has been leaking like a busted pipe β 29, 43, 45, painful stuff π BUT Rotorua International Stadium on game day is a different beast. I was there when they got stuck into Hawke's Bay at home this season and the crowd carried them the whole way, that 32:17 had the whole stand singing π₯
Harbour are coming into OUR house and I genuinely believe the boys respond here. Through thick and thin eh. Steamers til I die π Actually getting goosebumps just typing this. WHO'S GOING??? π

The 45 hurt me too tbh, and that was down south but they still leaked it like a sieve... you just know Harbour's backs will smell blood if the tackles stay missing like that. Rotorua crowd might carry them for 20 minutes, then what? Ah well, nowt to do π₯π

Coached juniors out here long enough to know a crowd can lift a team but it can't tackle for them π€ that Hawke's Bay game is my hope tho, the forwards went through them like a hot knife, do that again and Harbour won't get clean ball π₯ backing the Steamers all day, who's with me πͺHeart with the team, head on pause.

Cleared my throat at the TAB over this one years ago, and it cost me a good many dollars before I learned better π Back in the day I watched the Steamers turn around worse than this at that old ground, sides written off midweek who came out Sunday and played like men possessed. The whole Bledisloe nights crowd down there knew that feeling, a team with its back against the wall at home is a dangerous animal. But here's the rub: hope's a funny thing at this time of year. Everyone remembers the Hawke's Bay win and forgets 43 in Invercargill. I've seen enough seasons to know the form line lies more often than not - one good forwards performance and suddenly we're all believers again, then the tackles go missing like they have all month.
