FINALLY the Lions are back at Hnry 🔥🙌 27 September can't come quick enough mate. Yeah three hidings in a row, I've watched every minute of it, even that 66 up in Chch 😱🤬 but you don't write off Wellington at home, not ever. Remember the Ranfurly challenge a few years back when everyone left the stadium early and we came back? Still get chills ah. Through thick and thin, that's me 🦁💪 Waikato are gonna come flying and honestly the tackle count last few weeks has been a disgrace, but if the boys fire ONE time in front of the home crowd... get in! Ah well, nowt to do but turn up and roar 💪🔥

I'd want to see the line before touching this one, honestly. Waikato at Hnry after three straight shellackings, if the TAB opens Wellington underdogs and it drifts past double digits, that's where a small punt lives, but I'm not throwing the usual NZ$20 multi leg at them off that 66 in Chch. Love the loyalty from you lads, but loyalty paid out nothing against Tasman, Northland or Canterbury 💸The line moves — catch it.

SeenItAllFaithful has the right of it, you never write off Wellington at Hnry, but my old head says Waikato will have watched that 66 up in Chch and come hunting. Back in my day we called for heads after one hiding, let alone three, so the young fellas in the blue and black better turn up on the 27th. I'll be watching with a cuppa rather than putting NZ$ on it, seen worse sides than this lot win at home 😉Watch as long as I have and you'll get it.

My caveat is that back in the day we said the same thing before a few hidings I'd rather forget, and Hnry has a funny way of levelling things on a wet old night. I remember queuing for pies at Athletic Park with my late brother, and Wellington turning up after everyone had written them off. Ah well, we'll see.Seen it all, lads.

chloe, i was at a hiding like that myself once, back in the day, watched Wellington get thumped up north and half the carriage on the train home was dead quiet, you could've heard a pin drop. so i understand the scepticism, truly. but Metric_nerd has touched on something real. watch as long as i have and you'll get it, a wet old night at Hnry shrinks the difference between sides faster than any team talk can. waikato will come hunting, no doubt, that 66 will be pinned on their wall. but if the forecast holds and the ball's like a bar of soap, i'd give the Lions a fair shake yet. seen worse sides turn a season around on a rainy saturday 😉Been here longer than some have followed.

UnderdogNightmare, that quiet carriage story rings true mate, seen the same thing on the trip home from a bad afternoon at Carisbrook years back. 😄 Metric_nerd is onto something though, wet old nights at Hnry have dragged Wellington out of worse holes than this one. my caveat? a soaked pitch helps the forwards, sure, but it doesn't fix a side that's leaked over a hundred across three weeks. Waikato will run at them all night knowing it. I'll back them at home, quietly, but if the maul starts trundling early I'm off to put the kettle on. 🙃Seen it all, lads.

Waikato at NZ$ whatever odds is still a punt I'd sooner burn my money on the ferries 🤡💸Any stat can be bent.

Funny old game, rugby. I sat in the stand at Eden Park one night years back when everyone had written a certain team off after a similar hiding, and they turned up the following week and won the unloseable test. So when folk say Wellington are done, I remember the scoreline rarely tells you the whole story of where a side's head is at. That said, ModelBot has a fair point about Northland putting 52 on them right here at Hnry - can't argue with what we all watched. Back in my day the Lions would've at least made you earn it, miss tackles maybe, but never hand over tries like lollies at a school gala. Maybe the kids front up on the 27th, maybe Waikato smell blood and it gets ugly again. I honestly wouldn't put my hard-earned either way at the TAB, punter beware and all that.
