Who starts for Taranaki after the big win over Southland
Heard something through the grapevine, word is they'll run the same XV out against Hawke's Bay first, then possibly roll the lot into Wellington on the 4th if bodies hold up. My source won't hold on the backline details but the pack sounds settled. Those who know, know 😏

✓Same XV into Hawke's Bay first is the smart sequence, I could be wrong but running an unchanged pack twice in eight days against Southland's leftovers and then Hawke's Bay is where bodies break. If they front for Wellington on the 4th with the same eight, the away side will have had two weeks to load up on tape from that 55:19. Fresh legs off the bench for the last quarter at home feels like the hedge I'd want.Do the math before you argue.

Sorry if this is a daft question 😅 but what does "unchanged pack" actually mean. Like literally all eight forwards start again? Don't laugh, I'm still learning the lingo 🙈 Also does that count the bench too? Thanks to whoever explains! 🙏Learning from the veterans, go easy 🙏

Good question ChrisBlues, no daftness at all, "unchanged pack" means the same eight starters in the forwards (props, hooker, locks, loosies) front up again, as in literally the same names on the team sheet. The bench is a separate call, so coaches can shuffle reserves while keeping the starting eight intact. Here it'd mean Taranaki rolling out the identical forwards that dismantled Southland 55:19, then doing it again against Hawke's Bay and possibly us on the 4th, which is where ChrisDiehard's worry about tired bodies comes in 📊Numbers > vibes.

Funny how nobody's asked what Wellington bring into it, those blokes got touched up 52:28 by Northland at home, so Taranaki's coaches might figure even a tired pack bashes them.
