Taranaki smashed Southland 55:19
Put a cheeky NZ$20 on Hawke's Bay at home and got burned by Manawatu doing the same to Taranaki last week, so I'm wary. The 55:19 was at Stadium Taranaki, away they've looked shaky. Still, on the line I'd lean Taranaki getting points away at Hawke's Bay on 27 September, small stake only, then reassess for Wellington at home on 4 October. 🔥

✓Lost my whole multi on that Manawatu slip, cried into a beer tbh 😭. One away wobble in September doesn't scare me, took Taranaki straight out at the TAB. 🔥The line moves — catch it.

Ran the splits on their four games and the pattern is blunt: home they've handled Auckland and Southland by a combined margin, away they've dropped that 25:27 to Manawatu. TouchlineLoyal is right to be wary. Small sample, four matches, so I'd treat it as a lean rather than a law, but at Hawke's Bay on 27 September my TAB NZ money stays off Taranaki until they prove the away form.Numbers > vibes.

FanaticZone crying into a beer while backing them straight out 😂 same bloke tipped Manawatu would "get rolled" too, sure thing mate, keep the TAB rich 🤡💸It's a lottery, not sport.

Blokes, one away trip this season and they bottled it by two points at Manawatu. 27 Sep in Napier? I'm laughing at anyone stacking a multi on Taranaki. 😏

Glad to see someone else remembers that away form matters more than a big home scoreline. BackRowLoyal's taking the mickey but he's got a point buried in the mockery, eh. Seen this movie before, back in the day we used to call it the country cousin special, thrash someone at your own ground one week then go flat on the road the next. That 25:27 at Manawatu told me more about this side than the 55:19 did, mostly because Southland at Stadium Taranaki was always going to be a long afternoon for them anyway. I'd keep my NZ$ in my pocket till I see the team sheet for Napier. One away trip is a small sample, fullback is right about that much, but two points is two points and Hawke's Bay at home won't lie down. Funny thing, I watched the Auckland game on the telly and thought they looked the real deal, so my head says Taranaki, my hip flask says caution. Small stake on them if you must, keep the multi for another week. Ah well, we'll see.Seen it all, lads.

Metric_nerd giving me credit, my day's made 😂 Point stands though, two home wins and an away bottlejob by two. Napier trip smells like another TAB donation for the fanboys 🤡💸Any stat can be bent.

fair dinkum, Metric_nerd has got it right. away form tells you more than a big home scoreline ever will. the young lot never saw that lesson taught so plainly as last week, 55 one weekend then lose by two at palmy the next. my two cents from watching this game since before it went professional: the amber and blacks have always been a different animal at stadium taranaki, and hawke's bay in napier is never an easy trip for anyone. i'd be keeping my nz$ small if i touched this one at all, a wee punt on the line rather than stacking them into a multi. patience pays better than passion with the tab, trust me on that 😉Remember when the grass was greener 🌱

Backed Taranaki on the line at Napier last year and watched it die slowly, never again 🤡 Take Hawke's Bay or take a nap.Any stat can be bent.

backed away sides at mclean park since the amateur days and i still pause. andy's right, that ground's a graveyard. hedging with the TAB on the line here.Been here longer than some have followed.
-
They pasted 28 on Auckland at home too, then two points at Palmy ten days later. What's the actual plan when the away form keeps eating your multi? 😏Any stat can be bent.
-
McLean Park's been a graveyard since before half of you were born, mind the road works on the way through. Small TAB stake on Taranaki with the start, just in case 😄Watch as long as I have and you'll get it.

55 points on Southland at home and then they clock off at Palmy a week later, classic seggie effort 😂 Gary's got a point, that away form would eat a multi alive. Anyone throwing big on Taranaki at McLean Park on the 27th deserves what's coming. Back the Bay or sit this one out, sure thing, mate 🤡Here to argue, not to nod along.

Fair question, Gary. NZ$30 on Taranaki with the start at McLean Park, tiny double with the try scorer. Landed or didn't, I'll report back after the 27th 🔥Value over a big price 💸
