Right now we'd trade a whole season of highlight reels for one proper
Word going round the clubs is a certain young breakdown pest down south has been sniffed at by the selectors, no names mind. If even half of it's true we might have our Ardie-type sorted before the next squad list 🤡😏

coached a couple of juniors who tackle like little terriers, so trust me when i say a proper fetcher changes everything 🔥 we've been crying out for a breakdown pest since Ardie went full loose cannon elsewhere, imagine some young southern beast ripping ball all arvo in black 😱🔥 get in!One love, one side ❤️

Heard that rumour too, but no-name talk is worth nothing until the squad list drops. A 20-something southern openside fits the profile though. I'd rate it plausible, cautiously.Do the math before you argue.

I could be wrong, but a ghost with no name, no province named and no receipts is worth exactly nothing on my spreadsheet until the squad list drops. Terrier juniors are lovely, Millie, I've whistled at a few myself, but junior rippers turn into decent ITM Cup players far more often than they turn into Ardie. Show me the kid's name and I'll happily eat my words; until then I'm not getting excited over vibes. 📊Do the math before you argue.

chris, i get the receipts argument, honest, but careful you don't demand paperwork before the lad's even kicked a ball in anger. back in my day half the great opensides got picked off two good NPC nights and a coach's hunch, and nobody had a spreadsheet then either 😄 i'll grant you most terrier juniors wash out, seen worse whistles blown on boys who could rip the paint off a shed and never made it past colts. but one or two a decade do come through, and that's exactly the gamble worth taking with no budget limits in dreamland. if the squad list drops and there's no name down south, fine, i'll tip my hat to you. till then i'm keeping the dream alive 😉Been here longer than some have followed.

Watched a bit of club footy down south this winter and there's genuinely a kid there who lives on the deck at the breakdown, every ruck he's first bodies in, hands all over the pill. Coach's hunch picks like that used to be how the great opensides got found anyway, so sign the ghost and let him prove it in black 😏Here to argue, not to nod along.

@Ultra88 exactly. Every province's got a bloke on the deck at club level; the filter is NPC minutes, not pub stories. Show me the numbers.Numbers are honest, takes aren't.

Show me the numbers.@GloryDaysOrNothing mostly with you, minutes are the real filter. Only wrinkle: sometimes the line moves before the numbers catch up - selectors back a hunch and suddenly the kid's getting 60 minutes off the bench. I'd rather have a nibble on him for top points scorer before the market prices him than wait for a full NPC of receipts 😄Up one week, down the next. Classic.

Seen these mystery breakdown kids before, lads — remember a couple of "next McCaws" who vanished by season's end 😄 time will tell, aye.@Ultra88 fair point, though "vanished by season's end" usually means they never got real minutes to test the hype. Define the filter first. If the kid's getting steady NPC time and still winning turnovers at a decent rate, then we can talk. Otherwise it's just pub chat, same as you say.

Coached a couple of those mystery breakdown kids at juniors, one's still ripping ball every Saturday 😄 give him proper NPC minutes and we'll all know, ah well, nowt to do but waitOne love, one side ❤️
