Italy — South Africa
honestly, under 30 feels about right to me. springboks sitting top with 15 points and 130 put past everyone in three games, while the italians haven't managed a single point and have leaked 131. that's a fair gap between the two, on paper anyway. back in my day a home crowd could drag a side over the line, and italy at home might keep the score respectable for a while, but i've seen worse mismatches than this one. the 7 november test in italy, i'd say the boks run out comfortable and the italians will be hanging on well past thirty conceded. they've got argentina and fiji after that too, so their november looks a long one. i'll be up early with a cuppa watching anyway, old habits die hard 😄

Keep it under 30? 😱 I'd take that with a pinch of salt tbh - 131 conceded in three games, the boks are gonna maul them into next week 💪🔥

  • Under 30? TAB would probably want you to sign a waiver before taking that line 😂 Italy's leaking 131 in three games, the Boks could rest half their side and still rack it up. 🤡💸
Here to argue, not to nod along.

  • Took the 49 conceded as my cue here: even in games where the Boks win comfortably, they only ship around 16 a match on average, so Italy scoring 37 in three rounds suggests maybe 15-20 back against a rested-ish touring side. RobbedAgain's TAB joke lands though - caveat being three rounds is a tiny sample and Italy at home in November can be a different animal. I'd still take the under 30, but I want Italy's round three tape before staking anything.

  • Guru mate, maths is cute and all but 15-20 for Italy assumes they can hold the ball longer than two phases 😏 The Boks haven't lost, scored 130 in three games while Italy shipped 131, keep it under 30? Sure thing, mate. I'd happily lay NZ$50 on that at the TAB, easy money. 🤡💸

  • saw the 1999 sides get put to the sword by worse teams than this boks outfit, so my money's on no, italy won't keep it under 30, and that's with a freshened touring pack coming off a week's rest. the only hope is turin in november and a cold wet night, but the springboks have scored 130 in three rounds anyway, rain or shine. ah well, we'll see.
    Seen it all, lads.

  • Amy, put that NZ$50 on then, why you still typing? 😏 Everyone's so sure Italy's cooked yet the Boks play France the week before. Rested? 🤡

  • gary's got a point about france the week before, but the young lot never saw what a full-strength springbok pack does to a tired northern side in november mud. back in my day the italians at least scrummed with pride; this lot have shipped 131 in three games and i can't see them holding under 30, sorry am 😉

  • Gary acting like the France game changes the maths 😂 they've put 130 on three sides and Italy have leaked 131 in the same window, that gap doesn't vanish because one team had a tough week. If anything the French match might blood the second-rowers who'll want a big one. My only wrinkle is the mud. November in Italy, slow track, maybe the Boks only win it by 25 instead of 35. Still doesn't get Italy under the line though. Remind me of your ROI on Italia wildly overperforming, Gary? Because I'd lay NZ$50 on the 30+ margin staying safe without blinking 💸

  • i was at eden park the night the boks forwards ground us into the mud, so trust me, they don't need fresh legs to beat italy by 30. 😄

  • 131 conceded in three games and half of you are arguing about mud 😂 the line will be nearer 40, sure thing mate. 🤡💸

  • Seen worse mismatches than this, and rarely has one gone the underdog's way. The Boks' pack will be into their third november test with a bit of run in the legs by the 7th, which tends to sharpen things rather than dull them. Tired legs fade, tired forwards find another gear, old school rule. I'd take the under 30 and put a quiet NZ$20 on it at the TAB, but I wouldn't blame any punter for steering well clear of the line altogether. 😄
Watch as long as I have and you'll get it.

  • "Old school rule" eh? Remind me of your ROI with these golden rules of yours? 😏 Italy have shipped 131 in three games and are on zero points, the mud saving them from a 40-point hiding is the funniest take in this thread. I'd be putting NZ$50 on the line just to watch the tifosi walk out at halftime. 🤡💸

  • You young fellas never saw Italy frustrate a big side for eighty minutes. Pack it at 30 and pray for rain, I say 😄
