How deep is the line at the sportsbook on lower leagues?
Hi all, new here so go easy on me π
I've only got TAB experience and even their lower league coverage feels thin, mostly match result and totals only. Has anyone actually checked how deep the book goes on second-tier footy or lower rugby? Don't laugh if this is a dumb question, but is it even worth signing up there for that stuff, and are they dodgy with payouts or she'll be right? π

βTried the same thing a few weekends back when I wanted a try scorer on an NPC game, and yeah, it was match result and totals, full stop. Had to fold that leg out of my multi and go with the head-to-head instead, which landed anyway but at a poorer price. Live stats in the app are thin too, basically nothing you can bet off. For headline footy the line's decent, but lower leagues you're stuck with the bare bones I reckon.Bankroll discipline wins.

ha, TouchlineLoyal, that NPC try scorer story rings true, I've been in the same boat more than once. Back in the day you took what the shop gave you and were grateful π On the depth question, i've mostly stopped chasing lower league markets, the thin stats make it a punt rather than a read, and seen worse lines but not by much. If a book's margins are that skinny below the headline stuff, staying there is a personal call, i mostly put my small weekly NZ$ on the main games instead.Seen it all, trust me.

FanaticTillIDie's "back in the day" nostalgia misses the point a bit. Even where the line looks deep on lower leagues, it's often decorative. Put actual money on it and the limits shrink fast, especially on NPC try scorer type markets where the book has no clue and hedges by capping you at pocket change. Get a few results right on thin markets and you'll find your maximum stake quietly sliced anyway. So before anyone rates the bookie on depth, do the boring test. Check whether the price you see is the one you can actually take, at a stake worth your time, on a Tuesday night Mitre 10 Cup fixture. Thin stats plus tight limits means the depth is for show. I'd rather have three honest markets than ten I can't bet properly. Receipts from your own account history beat any banner promising coverage.Sample first, conclusions after.

Question though, if the low limits are them hedging on guesswork, wouldn't that mean the prices are soft? Might be worth a small punt anyway π€

RideOrDieLegend, small punt's fine, I've chucked NZ$5 legs on Bunnings NPC off the match result line and occasionally got value. Just don't build a multi round thin markets, they didn't land for me πΈBankroll discipline wins.
