From Ballymore to Suncorp: raise a glass to the Reds
i remember 2011 like it was last saturday. watched that final at a mate's place here in dunedin, half of us backing the Reds just because Cooper was box office. when he threw that no-look ball and it stuck, the whole lounge went up. Even the blokes who'd bagged him all season. back in the day finals were tense affairs you chewed your nails through, but that night felt like a party from the first minute.
and fair play to Queenslanders, you could hear the singing all the way across the ditch 😄 maroon heart never left indeed. seen worse sides lift trophies, that's for sure. here's to the Reds, same time next title, eh?

lovely thread this. back in the day i was at Ballymore as a kid watching the Wallabies park cars on the hill, so seeing that trophy go up at Suncorp in 2011 felt like the old ground's spirit just moved house 😉. that no-look pass, everyone in the lounge where i was screamed before the ball even landed, we all knew. still gets me.Seen it all, lads.
