i remember huddling round a telly back in 2017 when the streak really got rolling, thinking no side could possibly go the whole haul. And then they just kept doing it. eight on the trot, mate, still hard to get your head round. ah well, we'll see if the young fellas can start something like it again 😄

Back in my day you'd have laughed at anyone saying eight in a row was possible, and I watched the whole thing unfold from the couch with my boy, who's now bigger than me 😄 that night on Riccarton after the whistle, half of Auckland probably heard us singing. Cold hands, warm heart, mates.Watch as long as I have and you'll get it.

I was in that Riccarton Road crowd too, and my voice went the same way as Supporter_Fan's. Hard to compare eras, but I could be wrong, I reckon the 2017-2019 sides edged the current lot on that ruthless streak, they'd be up 20 and still hunting. The current boys play some lovely stuff and the young halves coming through give me real hope, though the forwards need another season of beefing up. One thing I'd say: the 2019 side had half the squad bulletproofed by four title runs beforehand. Give this group two or three more seasons of finals footy and the gap closes. Meanwhile I'm just happy we're back to singing in pubs again. 📊Do the math before you argue.

FrontRowFan, careful there mate 😄 I was on Riccarton Road that night too and my throat paid for it, but I'll still push back a bit - the current lot have had a tougher road to the title than people give them credit for, everyone's been aiming at us all season. Hard to compare eras when the draw keeps shifting round; one or two seasons is a small sample though. Still, I know what you mean about that ruthless streak, going 20 up and hunting like it was nil-nil was genuinely frightening to watch. My old man reckons the only thing that's matched that vibe at a ground since was an All Blacks night at Eden Park, and he's harder to impress than anyone in this thread. Eight straight though, lads. Whenever I get goosebumps at the memory, I just let them run ❤️

I'd thrown a few NZ$ on them for the title early, best value I've landed in years 🔥Bankroll discipline wins.
