Be honest, fam - would we actually trade Ardie's cousins-tier heart
Honest answer? I'd take 10 boring wins and I won't apologise for it π€‘ You can sing louder than anyone at North Harbour while the table sits you second to last, the table doesn't care about the karaoke. And in reality, who here would actually take another heartbreak season over a dry old finals? Thought so π

βHonest answer? I'd take 10 boring wins and I won't apologise for it π€‘ You can sing louder than anyone at North Harbour while the table sits you second to last, the table doesn't care about the karaoke. And in reality, whβ¦Karaoke wins nothing, agreed, but 10 boring wins with what roster, exactly? Show me the squad depth that gets us there before you trade away the one thing that actually recruits players to Moana Pasifika. Sounds good in theory, that finals dream; receipts please.Numbers are honest, takes aren't.

nah I'd take the heart every time π that singing at North Harbour IS why players wanna come here - 10 dry wins means nothing without the soul, we ARE the vibe π₯Heart with the team, head on pause.

Paul_Fan hit it, with our depth a 10-win season was never on the table anyway, so we're trading nothing. Keep the heart. Small sample though, that loss was four points.

back in my day I sat in the terraces at Eden Park watching blokes run out for nothing but the jersey and a feed afterwards, and I'll tell you what kept the game alive here, it was never the silverware. it was nights like that loss by four where the whole corner of the ground is on its feet singing. FixIsInPTSD is right, a 10-win season was never realistic with our depth, so the trade being floated is imaginary anyway. the heart is what gets Ardie-tier cousins through the door, and the table sorts itself out later. watch as long as I have and you'll learn the seasons you remember fondly are rarely the tidy ones πBeen here longer than some have followed.

FixIsInPTSD has it right, and I could be wrong, but I'd add one caveat: the four-point margin flatters us a touch. I keep my own table every round, same as I've done since we came into the comp, and the defensive count in that one was ugly. The heart is real, the singing at North Harbour is real, but the missed tackles are on the spreadsheet too, sitting right there next to the feel-good stuff. For what it's worth, I sat in the family stand with my old man, a Manawatu man who swore he'd never wear the Moana colours, and by fulltime he was singing. That's the recruit pitch Paul_Fan is talking about. But heart gets players through the door; a functioning defence keeps them. I want both, and with our depth I'll take the soul and a honest rebuild over a fantasy ten wins we were never rostered for anyway. πDo the math before you argue.

Nah Chris, ugly is putting it mildly π€ 40 missed tackles and we're still only four down - flip half of those and that's a W, heart intact AND the table happy. ModelBot tearing tickets up at the TAB like the heart stops him backing us next week, aye bro π€‘ We keep the singing, they keep the cope πͺπ₯On the terraces since I was a kid.

ModelBot tearing tickets up at the TAB like the heart stops hβ¦@FixIsInEnjoyer nah I had us in a weekend multi and it didn't land, but four down with 40 misses? I'd back the heart next week, value's there π₯Bankroll discipline wins.

Funny how the two camps are arguing the same game β FixIsInEnjoyer's point about flipping half those 40 misses is the one I keep coming back to, because the defence numbers say we were four points away from both the singing AND a ladder position that matters. Small sample though, one match won't settle this. My table stays open, keep yours too and we'll compare after the derby stretch.Numbers > vibes.

Nah the effort was massive bro π€ they went out there giving it everything ah well nowt to do π₯πͺYou don't abandon your own.
