FINALLY!! 🔥🔥 thought this day would never come boys, get in! Two wins from fourteen and yeah we're 11th, I've copped the stick all season... but you watch those stands still full in Auckland, THAT'S what belief looks like 🙌 who's with me through thick and thin?! 💪

Trust me, I've been on and forgotten with these mob since round three 😭 their line kept drifting wider every week and I still chased a couple of times. Cold lesson from yesterday: this season I'm leaving them alone full stop, 2-12 says the TAB has priced them right and there's no value backing loyalty 💸Up one week, down the next. Classic.

millie's right that loyalty and belief are two different beasts, and i'll add this much: i've sat on the Eden Park terraces since the amateur days and i've never seen a crowd keep singing through a 567-point wall before, so that counts for something. my caveat though, young fellas, hope needs a heartbeat on the field, not just in the stands, and five straight losses says the heartbeat's faint. still, i'll be there for the last home game, cup of tea in hand, same as ever 😄Remember when the grass was greener 🌱

Tell that to my TAB slip. I've backed these mob twice this season out of pity and they still found ways to lose me NZ$50. Twelve losses in fourteen, five on the bounce, and the fanboys will still tell you the trajectory's upward. Watch for them piling into this thread any minute now 🤡 Hope? The only hope left is whoever's on the other side of the line next week, surely. 💸Here to argue, not to nod along.

matchday has it about right, i reckon. i was at eden park one drizzly friday night a while back when things weren't much brighter, and the crowd noise carried the players more than any team talk could. you don't get that in the spreadsheet metrics. mind you, loyalty only stretches so far, and 276 for against 567 is a hard number to romanticise. i've seen worse seasons, seen this club rebuild before, and there's a spine of something there the results haven't touched yet. the young ones asking me if hope is silly. Fellas, i waited decades for bledisloe nights worth remembering. patience costs nothing. 😄Seen it all, lads.

Back in my day we all wrote off sides in June that somehow turned up swinging in September, and I've seen worse seasons than this one, believe me. Two wins, twelve losses, and still the terraces full, that's not a table position, that's a club being built the slow way. Expectations will fool you every time; the round-one smokey talk was always borrowed hope. Ask me again in a few years whether this lot were worth the patience 😉Been here longer than some have followed.
