Back in the day everyone said no Test player in his right mind would walk away from a big Japanese payday either, then look how many came home when the Bledisloe started slipping. Richie's got unfinished business here, and he's a proud Samoan-adjacent sort of character who'd look sweet in our colours. Give me a season of him throwing those cut-outs to Ardie and I'll happily eat a hot pie at North Harbour in the rain feeling like a genius. Money talks, sure, NZ$1.5m talks very loudly, but sometimes a man just wants to come home while the legs still work. morning crew. this has got real echoes of the dan carter japan talk years back, everyone swore he was gone forever till word came he fancied coming home again. i also remember sam whitelock rumours doing three laps of the paddock before anything happened, and plenty more peters of the world where mates-of-mates insisted the deal was done. rumour mill runs faster than the rumour itself ever does, eh. i'm like SeenItAll_Guy though - been around long enough to learn hearts beat spreadsheets. richie knows what he walked away from, bledisloe nights meant something to him the way they did to us sitting round the tv back in the day. nzr stretched thin sure, and 31 isn't young, but call me sentimental, count me in anyway 😉 ah well, we'll see 😄Seen it all, lads.

Bloke's heart is exactly the point tbh. Remember a fella in our club side, mid-thirties, everyone said done, cooked, retire, he fronted up and played his best footy in years, all guts. Tried to give me a broken nose in the pre-season game mind you 😂ah well, nowt to do.
