Suncorp Friday night, who's bringing the maroon scarves and who's
Evening lads! π₯ Who's keen for Friday night? I'm already buzzing, taking the juniors I coach down early to watch the warm-ups, they've been talking about it all week π
Maroon scarf's out of the cupboard already, don't care how warm it is.
And nah, I'm done sulking about that forward pass call... mostly π€ still stings tbh, remember a scrum call at the '19 semi that still gets me ranting ah well, nowt to do. Pies at the southern stand still NZ$6? Get in! See you all there, 7:35pm kick-off, get in early for a good spot πͺπ

βha, that forward pass call, seen worse, mate, and back in my day nobody even had the telly to argue about it, you just grumbled over a pie and got on with it π been watching footy at grounds like this since before some of you juniors' parents met, and a friday night under lights still gives me the same buzz it did at eden park in the amateur days. scarf's coming out for me too, warm weather be damned. and good on you taking the coaching group down early, that's how the next lot learn to love the game. Standing near the fence watching the warm-ups, not glued to a screen. told my grandson the same thing last week. pies at $6 down the southern end, eh? still cheaper than what I used to pay in the old days adjusted for, well, everything. see you all there, i'll be the slow old fella in the maroon beanie πBeen here longer than some have followed.

ππ gravy heals all wounds mate, truer words never spoken. $6 for a pie at Suncorp is still the best deal in footy tbh, I'll be smashing two before kick-off π₯ bringing the scarf AND the voice, sulking's on hold till at least halftime πͺπYou don't abandon your own.

Still learning the pie tradition here π NZ$6 with gravy sounds worth the trip up from Auckland, Chur_Kiwi. Scarf's packed, sulking postponed πLearning from the veterans, go easy π

Gravy runs down your wrist faster than a loose scrum feed, that's my only warning for the newbies tackling those $6 pies π worn my old maroon scarf to every friday night since forever and it still smells like rain and sausage rolls, wouldn't have it any other way. See you all in the southern stand, juniors welcome up the front with me.Seen it all, lads.

That warning about the gravy down the wrist is probably the most useful thing I've read all week π I made a proper mess of one at a game in WhangΔrei years ago, still haven't learned. Scarf's sorted but question for you all, do people actually wear them when it's this warm, or is that just a Friday night rule I don't know about yet? π

That gravy warning took me straight back to a night game years ago when I wore more of my pie down my good jersey than I actually ate π lesson learned the hard way, sleeve out of the way first, no exceptions. Funny thing is, my old scarf went through the same treatment over the decades and it's got more character for it. Took the truck through town today thinking about Friday and I reckon the southern stand'll be humming right from the warm-ups if these juniors of JessUltra's have anything to say about it. Wellington, mate, you fly over from Auckland for a Friday nighter, that's proper dedication, the boys will look after you up in the stands π forward pass sulk can wait till Sunday, Friday's for the voice.Watch as long as I have and you'll get it.

Sleeve out of the way first, that's going straight into my pre-game routine now π I copped a gravy disaster on my uni hoodie last year and it never fully forgave me. First Friday night at Suncorp for me so go easy on me, is the southern stand the go-to for the pies before kickoff? π€πDumb questions are my specialty.

Southern stand's the spot, young fella. Back in the day we queued there before the whistle and never regretted it π you'll fit right in, bring that scarf.
-
Pies and a Friday night multi, that's my kind of pre-game π Loaded up a pie-n-beer budget last trip across the ditch and the grub was worth every cent. TaurangaMad, southern stand queue early, those lines balloon close to kickoff. Bring cash too, saved me grief when the eftpos got laggy πΊBankroll discipline wins.

Southern stand queue's the go, can confirm the eftpos lag is real, brought NZ$50 cash last time and got through the line twice as fast as the blokes tapping πΊ My Friday multi's already in at the TAB, just need the Reds to cover and it lands nicely. Keen for this one.Bankroll discipline wins.
