Word is Bailyn Sullivan mightn't be mega keen on sticking around up north, and if there's any whiff of truth there we should be straight on the phone. That centre channel has been leaking tries for two seasons and he learned his footy here. Just saying what I heard from a bloke at training, take it with a grain of salt 😏

Been keeping my own column on this for a couple of seasons now, so let me pour some cold water carefully. Bailyn's what, 23-24? Prime buy-low age, which is exactly why the Chiefs won't be in a hurry to release him - blokes that age with his metres-per-carry profile usually get re-signed, not shopped. The nuance here is position: he's spent most of his game time off the wing and at fullback, with centre appearances sprinkled in. Small sample, and I always caveat that, but nothing in it says proven 12 or 13 yet. The transfer itself? Franchise-to-franchise moves inside NZ do happen, but they tend to be the player pushing, not the club chasing. So Halfback_Kiwi is right to want receipts - a bar rumour at the Westpac is worth exactly nothing on a spreadsheet. If his agent's genuinely sounding us out, though, we should be first in line, because the alternative is another season of watching that channel get run through. Worth the cap space at the right number, sure as eggs.Numbers > vibes.
