Right, be honest lads. Who's our genuine fetch-it openside for next
Watched the last few games and honestly our breakdown work in the second half was non-existent. Ardie does the job of two blokes and by the 60th minute he's gasping while some grubber-happy halfback runs straight through the ruck.
Anyway, word is a certain loosey down south is off contract at the end of the season and hasn't signed anything yet. Not naming names, use your heads. Picture him in yellow hitting the breakdown at Sky Stadium with that Wellington breeze going sideways. Would cost a fair few NZ$ I'd imagine, but I'd throw it on a TAB multi before I'd doubt it happens. Anyone else heard the same or am I dreaming? 😏

✓And which "loose forward down south" exactly? Name him or this is just transfer-window gossip with nothing behind it.Sample first, conclusions after.

If it's who I reckon it is from down south, imagine that pilfering menace with Ardie beside him 🤯 breakdown would be a fortress. Sweet as dream, sign me up 💪🔥In the stands since I was a kid.

Ran the numbers on this in my workbook 📊 any southern fetcher worth the name will be 28 to 31 with cap pressure from their own franchise, so I'd pencil it at maybe 20% odds purely on age and salary fit. Sample size caveat, but our breakdown contest rate dropped off a cliff after the 55th minute in the last three games, which is why Ardie looks cooked late. Yes please if it lands, but I wouldn't tell the punters to put money on it.Numbers > vibes.

Fella gasping at 60 minutes because he's doing two jobs, that's a coaching fix first, signings second 😤 we had the same problem back in my playing days and the fix was two tacklers hitting the ruck properly, not one superman. But if that southern fetcher is genuinely off contract, pay whatever it takes 💪 ah well, nowt to do but dream till the announcement. You don't abandon your own.

I'd take those 20 percent odds with a grain of salt, Boot, because contract chatter down south at that age usually means the franchise has already priced him out and the leak is a negotiation tactic. SeenItAllFaithful has a point about coaching, mind you. A fetcher工商行政, sorry, a fetcher can't pilfer anything if our first two blokes to the ruck are strolling in from the blindside like they're waiting for a bus. Fix the support line and Ardie's workload drops by a third without signing anyone. That said, if the southern fella does come off contract, I could be wrong, but I'd rather spend the cap there than on another midfield da Racing 90s reject. Windy night at Sky, turnover on our own 22, done 📊Do the math before you argue.

SeenItAllFaithful, sure, coaching fixes plenty, but back in my day the good sides still had a genuine seven. Why settle for half the solution when the man's possibly available? 😉Been here longer than some have followed.

Put him in a Canes jersey and even the fanboys would raise a pint 😏 I'd chuck $50 on it at the TAB if the odds were honest. Here to argue, not to nod along.

I've heard the "he's off contract down south" song a few times before, lads, and half of them end up re-signing the week the rumours peak. Remember the big name we all got excited about a couple of seasons back? Never left his province. Could be different this time, mind, he'd look good in the wind at Sky Stadium, but I'll believe it when he's holding the jersey. Time will tell 😉Watch as long as I have and you'll get it.
