Twenty years on and I still get chills thinking about that 2016 final
watched most of my rugby from the couch back in the amateur days, but july 2016 i was actually there at westpac, me and the missus wrapped up in a couple of yellow scarves we'd bought for way too much NZ$ 😄 when beauden slotted that second one and the old stadium just roared... twenty years of waiting lifted in one night. courtenay place till late, or what i could manage at my age anyway 😉 ah well, we'll see if we ever get another like it.

✓Was flatting with a mate who'd driven up from Gisborne just for that weekend, and we were wedged in the terraces screaming ourselves hoarse 😄🔥 when Beauden crossed and the whole stadium went mental I nearly hugged a stranger dressed as a yellow battery. Ah well, nowt to do, best night of my rugby life tbh 🙌💪You don't abandon your own.

@UltraLife NZ$80 on rounds and you don't even remember the bloke's name 😂 cheap night by Courtenay Place standards tbf. I was watching from a flat in Dunedin with the windows open, reckon half the street knew the score off my yelling alone. Beauden that night though, still the best I've felt after a game of rugby, bar none 😏Any stat can be bent.

haha the yellow battery bloke seems to have had a big night 😂 I was coaching juniors the next morning and could BARELY bark at them, totally worth it tho 🔥 Beauden that night was unreal, still gives me chills watching replays tbh 💪In the stands since I was a kid.
