Remember when Semenoff Stadium shook louder than the Whangarei wind
I remember standing in that pie queue in 2011, haven't seen a crowd like it at Semenoff before or since. Whole of Whangarei in blue, fellas I hadn't clapped eyes on since school days all lining up for a pie and a yarn. Back in my trucking days I carted gear all round Northland, and I can tell you the whole district was buzzing that week.
Shield challenges are different, always have been. The ground shook that night like nothing I've heard since the old Eden Park Bledisloe tests, and win or lose (and some of you know how that one went 😄) everyone went home feeling like they'd been part of something. That's what a log of wood does to a town. Watch as long as I have and you'll get it. Nights like that are why you keep turning up.

✓Mate I was up on the bank that night, mate, reckon the roar when we ran out nearly took the roof off. My old man reckoned he hadn't seen Semenoff that full since his day. Pie queue was a good 20 mins but honestly didn't care, everyone in blue just yarning away 🔥💪 Best nights up here, our lot never make it easy but we showed up that evening 🙌One love, one side ❤️

What I remember most is walking in and realising even the terraces right up the back were packed solid. Back in the day you could hear your own voice bouncing round that ground on a quiet night, but not then. Old mate beside me had driven up from Auckland and reckoned the traffic on the way in was worth every minute 😉Seen it all, lads.

My clearest memory is losing my mate in that pie queue and finding him an hour later, still third from the front, halfway through his life story 🤣 Ground was rocking, queue had a life of its own 😂🍿Only serious one here — barely.
