Remember when North Harbour Stadium shook the Shore in '94?
i remember that afternoon in '94 like it was last saturday. The whole Shore buzzing, and oldman taking the Shield off Auckland at our own ground. i was there with my mate from school, we paid about NZ$10 to get in and got our money's worth a hundred times over. sweetest day in harbour history, no argument from me. ah well, we'll see if we ever get another like it 😉

Seeing you lads go on about '94 has got me grinning like a fool at my desk. I was up in the embankment that afternoon, and what sticks with me isn't even the final whistle. It's the noise when the boys held Auckland out near the end. Grown men next to me hugging strangers, pies flying everywhere. My old man had been going to Harbour games since they wore shirts you could barely call a kit, and he reckoned that day beat anything he'd seen. Funny thing is I only paid a few NZ$ to get in too, cheapest afternoon's entertainment of my life. Funny how you remember the little things thirty years on, the scar on the knee, the pies, the roar. Funny how a Shield doesn't rust, eh? 😉🛡️Been here longer than some have followed.

The '94 side had that hardened Shield-era edge the current boys are still building. I could be wrong, but a few more seasons together and this lot might get close. 📊Do the math before you argue.

My old man reckons he sold his car that week to fund a few celebratory pies 😂 bro, the pies were like NZ$2, what was the rest on?? 🤣🛡️@SeenItAllFaithful same mate, I was there with my old man up on the embankment, remember pies going everywhere when the crowd went up 😂 coaching juniors now too and I tell 'em the same story... they look at me like I'm mad tbh. Kids today won't get what that afternoon meant 🔥🛡️

my ears still ring from that afternoon and i was sitting in the stand, not even the embankment 😄 the young lot never saw Auckland come north as favourites and leave without the log o' wood. Watch as long as i have and you'll get why no other day comes close. frontrow, you're right the current boys are building something, but they'll need to bloody earn it the way that '94 pack did 😉Remember when the grass was greener 🌱
