i remember when they first opened the ground at albany, mid nineties, and that 94 side ran out in the Harbour colours with buck still looming large over everything. watched as long as i have and you'll get it, there was just something in the air those nights. chills then, chills now. 😉

✓Chills is right mate, even though I was just a kid on the couch in Gisborne watching on the telly 😅 My old man was shouting at the screen like the boys could hear him, and I remember thinking this Harbour mob must be something special if they're doing this to everyone. First time I actually got to Albany in person years later, got that same feeling walking in, honestly it hit me straight away 🔥 Buck's shadow was over everything back then. The way he carried himself, you just wanted to be part of it. Been through thick and thin since, wouldn't swap it for anything ah well, nowt to do 💪🙌You don't abandon your own.

Fair warning from someone who's watched every era since Albany opened: that 94 side had Buck's shadow over everything, and this current mob don't have that aura yet, but the raw talent through the midfield reminds me of those nights more than any team since. Give them two or three seasons of bloody-mindedness and we might be talking about a new golden generation. Small sample though, so I'm keeping the chills in reserve for now. 📊Numbers > vibes.

I put a few NZ$ on Harbour making the semis pre-season and it didn't land, but the way those young centres ran the ball late in the year nearly got me there anyway. Aura comes with wins though, can't punt on that part 😅Value over a big price 💸
