I put NZ$50 on Wellington -13 the day after that 52-28 and it landed easy, so I'd already banked them as the form side… then Counties Manukau happened 😭 Line for this one opened around Northland -6 I'd guess, and honestly the road trip down south makes me lean Southland +6 rather than touch the head-to-head. Which Northland turns up is anyone's bet, and that's exactly why the value's on the underdog here. 🔥Value over a big price 💸

Good question from the young fella above. Harbour was away too, aye. That's the thing about this mob: the jersey turns up, the attitude is a coin flip. Back in the day we used to say you can't pick a Northland side by venue, you pick them by mood, and nobody's found the mood-o-meter yet. Seen worse than this whiplash, mind. A team that hangs 52 on Wellington has the goods; a team that coughs 19 at home to Counties a week later hasn't decided whether it wants them. Southland down south in early October, weather could be nasty, and that suits whichever version fancies a scrap. Which one laces up on the 2nd? Your guess is as good as mine, and I've been watching this game since rugby was amateur.😉Seen it all, lads.
