Kia ora Drua whanau, who's keen for the trip over the ditch and our
Kia ora whanau! π«π― How are we all doing this week? Been hanging out for this one - trip across the ditch, boys back fit, and word is the coach is gonna let the flyers off the leash again βοΈβοΈ
Had goosebumps just thinking about it tbh. Remember last season when they ran it from everywhere and the whole pub was up yelling? That's the feeling I want back. Was at the juniors training last night and even the kids were buzzing about it lol.
So who's actually making the trip? Booking flights this week if a few of us can sort a group deal, keen to get a proper Island flair away day going π Drop your plans below lads, it's gonna be raining tries!! π§οΈπ

βit never rains but it pours, eh glory π and if the word on the flyers being back is true then ill happily stand out in it all afternoon. been watching island backs tear up park footy since the amateur days and there's still nothing that gets me off the couch like a winger at full flight with the ball tucked under one arm. my old man used to reckon you can coach a forward but you can't coach magic, and that back three looks like magic to me. havent pulled the trigger on flights yet, waiting on the wife to sign off the leave (she holds the purse strings these days, near enough retirement and still taking orders π). if a few of you are heading over from this side and want to catch up for a beer before the match, count me in. going to be a good old fashioned try fest by the sounds of it, and those are the days you remember.Been here longer than some have followed.

Umbrellas are banned at my place after I took one to a match in '19 and the missus never saw it again π long story, dry winner. If the flyers are genuinely off the leash I'm buying a poncho, a spare jersey AND a waterproof phone case. Learned that lesson the hard way π€£βοΈ

π€£ robbed that poncho plan is a smart move bro, better than my record. lost a beanie AND a flag at a match once, never seen either again ah well, nowt to do π Keen as mustard for this one tho. Remember that Semi game a few seasons back when our wing just left three defenders grabbing air? still get chills tbh π₯ If the flyers are genuinely fit and the coach lets them rip, I'm standing in the rain all afternoon no worries. Get in! πͺπYou don't abandon your own.

Careful fellas, last time we all hyped the "flying wingers are back" line one of them pulled a hamstring during the warmup and I cried into a NZ$9 pie π€£ SeenItAll that Semi memory is pure trauma for the other team though, the three defenders are STILL grabbing air π I'll believe the umbrella forecast when I see the team sheet π§οΈOnly serious one here β barely.

Cried into a NZ$9 pie ππ€£ bro that pie deserved better!! Wingers back or not I'm there, saw the boys at training last week, they looked FLYING ππ₯Heart with the team, head on pause.

Josh my bro "looked FLYING" at training is what we said last year too and then I watched a bloke pull up lame chasing his own kickoff π€£ I'll believe the umbrella weather when I'm standing in it, hold my pint till then. Sweet as if they're actually back tho, my poncho is already in the wash from the last false alarm πβοΈ

ha, chris my young mate, i'll hold your pint but you owe me a pie if the umbrellas come out π truth is the young lot never saw a wet-weather try fest like the old days, and i'd love to see these flyers write their own chapter. whichever way it goes, good to see this thread full of whanau again, see you all over the ditch, eh? βοΈπ«π―Remember when the grass was greener π±

Sβ¦The question isn't what they look like at training. How many effective meters have they actually added to their scoreboard?
