From underdogs to whānau: the night Moana Pasifika made Auckland roar
remember those early years when getting people to the ground felt like pulling teeth? felt like we were just a hopeful group of blokes who needed some real local backing. seeing the crowd turn into that proper whānau at Mt Smart, singing out with the siva tau, it’s taken me back to when we first started building this thing up. what a night that was. 😄

Chur, watching from the lounge that night my missus and the neighbours ended up singing together like we'd known each other for years. Never seen Mt Smart like it 😊Been here longer than some have followed.

Funny how that first Mt Smart night team had nothing to lose, and this current squad carries real expectation now. Different pressure entirely, but the whānau feeling never left the stands. I reckon the old underdogs would be proud seeing how far the boys have come 📊 (sorry, habits die hard) ❤️Numbers > vibes.

I cried that night and blamed it on the beer 🤣 whole stand belting out in three languages, even my dodgy singing fit right in. Whānau since day one ❤️Memes are analysis too.
