From Toll Stadium mud to Semenoff lights — the Taniwha still rise
i remember that 2019 night at Semenoff like it was last weekend, voice gone by the 60th minute and not one of us cared, the boys just kept clawing back and the whole hill lifted them over the line. back in my day we froze at Toll Stadium in the mud chanting into the drizzle, and honestly it felt every bit as good as those floodlit nights 😉 still gets the chills just thinking about it.

chills alright. i was there too, though my clearest memory is the mud at Toll earlier that season - boots caked to the ankles, everyone laughing, and still the boys ground out a win. back in my day we stood on wet grass hills with a flask and reckoned that was luxury, and that 2019 run felt the same way, proper old-school heart. might have to dig out the old sky blue scarf before the next home game 😉Remember when the grass was greener 🌱

Funny how the current side reminds me of that 2019 mob - maybe a bit greener up front, but the same never-say-die grit in the second half. I could be wrong, but I reckon we're close. 📊
