From Nadi nights to Suva roars
i remember sitting up way past my bedtime back in 2022 watching that crusaders match in suva, and when the final whistle went i had to put my cuppa down because my hands were shaking. never seen a crowd drag a team over the line like that. the noise through my telly was unreal, could only imagine what the street was like over there 😄
mind you, i've watched rugby since the amateur days and seen worse nights at eden park than any of us would care to admit, but that suva one? that was one for the grandkids. someone's uncle climbing the posts and the kava out before the whistle, that's the detail that gets me. proper football that night.

✓Half my street in Tauranga was watching that one together, we'd dragged the TV out onto the deck 🔥 When that last lineout held and the whistle went, my old man who never cries had tears streaming down his face, no shame at all 😱🙌 Someone lit fireworks at like 10pm and the neighbours just came over instead of complaining. That crowd in Suva carrying the boys home is the best thing I've seen in rugby, full stop. Still get goosebumps thinking about it 💪One love, one side ❤️

the thing that got me was the kava bowls coming out before the whistle even went, half of suva knew it was done before the ref did 😄 back in my day a crowd like that would've been a sent-off offence, but honestly that night was pure rugby. ah well, we'll see if they can top it this season 😉Seen it all, lads.
