From Larkham's drop goal to our lounge room cheers
Twenty-five years since Larkham floated that drop goal and half of Gisborne probably heard me yelling at the telly. Back then you'd crowd round one ancient set, grainy picture and all, and nobody complained a bit. Watched every Brumbies match since, through the good years and the lean ones, and I wouldn't trade a minute of it.
That 2004 final at Canberra Stadium though, still gives me goosebumps thinking about the blue and gold everywhere you looked. Old mate I know paid NZ$40 for a scarf that day, got absolutely fleeced by a vendor outside the ground, and he still wears the thing every match day like it's sacred. Funny how the dearest rubbish becomes the treasure, eh. Same as it ever was 😄

✓Bloke in my flat in Rotorua nearly put his fist through the wall when that drop goal went over 😱🔥 pure scenes. I was 12, sitting on the carpet right in front of the telly, dad going mental behind me. STILL get chills tbh 🙌 ah well, nowt to do but keep the faith 💪On the terraces since I was a kid.

i still had my old scarf going into that 2004 final at Canberra, sea of blue and gold, chills all over. back in my day we watched on a fuzzy telly and thought nothing of it 😉Been here longer than some have followed.

Hard to compare eras, that 2004 pack set the benchmark, but the current mob play with plenty of heart. Give this lot a few more seasons together. 📊
