From Larkham's drop goal to Giteau's no-look pass
i remember watching that 2004 final on a dodgy old telly here in dunedin, flat flat and everyone in the pub went quiet when larkham lined up that drop goal, then the whole room erupted 😄 mate of mine still reckons giteau's no-look pass is the prettiest thing he's seen on a rugby field, and i won't argue. back in my day we had to wait a week for the highlights reel to feel that again, you young fellas get it in seconds. good thread this.

Funny you mention the drop goal, I was listening to that one on the radio in the old Cortina driving back from a work do, nearly put it in a ditch when it went over 😄 what got me about 2004 was the whole town wearing purple by the thursday, bus drivers, the bakery lady, everyone. back in the day we used to queue at dawn for finals tickets, thermos and all, and it was worth every frozen toe. my own goosebumps moment is still giteau floating that no-look pass, pure cheek, and it came off. ah well, we'll see if the young fellas ever give us a night like that again 😉Seen it all, lads.
