From Lancaster Park mud to One NZ Stadium lights
I remember back in the day standing on the Lancaster Park terraces, boots caked in mud halfway up my shins, paying a couple of bucks for a pie that was half fat but tasted like heaven 😄 different crowd now under that fancy roof, but the red and black hasn't changed a bit. Same heart, eh - just drier socks.

✓That half-fat pie memory hit me right in the feels 😄 I was only a young fella but Dad dragged me to a muddy Ranfurly Shield night at the old ground, me freezing in a too-big jersey, and I swear the roar when we scored near the old terraces carried all the way home. Took my boy to his first game under the new roof last season and he had the exact same look on his face ah well, nowt to do, heart's the same even if the seats are fancier 🙏🔥You don't abandon your own.

nothing like that smell of a wet grey afternoon at the old park, eh, I'd get there early just to watch the trainer rake the mud before kick-off. paid NZ$2 for a lukewarm pie and reckon I'd trade half my stadium seat for one of those nights again. same roar though, wherever we sing, hard out 😄Been here longer than some have followed.

My clearest Lancaster Park memory is losing my gumboot in the mud at kick-off and hopping round like an idiot all match 🤣 Worth it though, pie included for like NZ$3.Memes are analysis too.
