From Albany to the world: the Harbour legends who made our colour
i remember back when albany was all paddocks and a gravel carpark, and we still packed that old ground to the rafters - me and the wife wrapped in blankets, thermos of tea, roaring ourselves hoarse as the boys came home in the dark 😄 seen worse nights out south, mind you, but never better company. ah well, we'll see what this lot make of the place.

✓The gravel carpark bit got me right in the feels 😄 my old man used to park the ute facing the fence and we'd watch half the game from the tailgate, thermos flasks clanking around every time someone scored. Reckon I was about 12, sitting next to my uncle who'd roar himself into a full sweat and then blame the rain. Magic nights, tbh 🙌 Still get chills thinking about the roar coming up from Albany on the train back into town after. Whole carriage singing, strangers hugging, someone's scarf ended up on my head and I never gave it back 😅 through thick and thin with this mob, always. Nowt quite like it ah well, nowt to do 💪🔥You don't abandon your own.

warm memories all round here 😄 back in my day you could hear the roar from the shore half a mile off, and my old auntie used to bring lamingtons in a biscuit tin, said the boys played faster when the tin was empty by full time. watch as long as i have and you'll get it, those nights weren't about the footy alone, they were about who you were frozen next to 😉Been here longer than some have followed.

My old man's thermos is still in the cupboard, chipped lid and all 😄 reckon that tailgate row was the best seat in the country tbh
