Four straight wins and 66 points past Wellington
Finally the countdown is on!! 🔥 66 past Wellington, then grinding out that 25:24 up at North Harbour... our lot never make it easy but four straight and now Manawatu away on the 3rd. Backing them all day, fifth on the bounce incoming 💪🙌

✓Christchurch is gonna be buzzing alright, but Manawatu away is a whole different beast, that trip up north bites 😱 Still fancy the boys, fifth on the bounce tbh 🔥💪You don't abandon your own.

I threw NZ$20 on Canterbury -12 in that Harbour game and watched the line sweat till the last minute, 25:24, landed by a point 😭. You'd think the market would learn after 66 past Wellington, but Manawatu away the TAB's still keeping it tightish, so the straight head-to-head looks the value to me. Fifth on the bounce, I'm on. 🔥Bankroll discipline wins.

Me checking the calendar every hour like the Manawatu game might sneak up early 🤣 StandsGuy23, that NZ$20 aged you ten years mate 😂🤟Only serious one here — barely.

SeenItAllFaithful is dead right about that Manawatu trip, I've done the drive up there plenty of times in the truck, and it's never a gimme no matter how good your form is. Back in my day you'd win four straight and the old boys would just nod and say now go win the fifth one, that's where seasons get judged 😄 That 25:24 at North Harbour told me more about this side than the 66 did, if I'm honest. Anyone can put points on a Wellington having an off night, but grinding out a one-pointer away from home, that takes some backbone. Seen worse Canterbury sides with less fight in them, that's for sure. I'll back them on the 3rd, just quietly. Fifth on the bounce would be something to tell the grandkids about 😉Watch as long as I have and you'll get it.

Sweating a NZ$20 line by a point and calling yourself a punter, StandsGuy23? 🤡 😏 Manawatu at home will bite someone - just remind me of your ROI before we all tail you.

Watching that Harbour game on the telly, one point either way, took me right back to the old Ranfurly Shield defences, form counts for nothing when the home crowd gets going. OldSchoolEst66's right about that Manawatu trip, seen worse sides than them spoil a good run. I'll be up early putting the kettle on for the 3rd, fifth on the bounce or not 😄Been here longer than some have followed.

Rob calling out ROI while backing Manawatu to roll a side that just put 66 on Wellington 😂 Went to Waikato and won by 22, but sure thing, mate 💸😏Here to argue, not to nod along.

that Wellington score had me checking my glasses, thought it was a typo 😄 but young GoTheDistance has a point, 36-14 down in Hamilton was proper work. still, i sat through enough Ranfurly nights at eden park to know a fifth win's never handed over, Manawatu at home on a spring saturday, that'll test the legs more than the scoreboard suggests.Seen it all, lads.

Funny how the Hamilton trip gets glossed over, going down there and winning by 22 is the result that actually told me something, anyone can put 66 on a Wellington side already on the beach. Just asking though: was that North Harbour one-point scrape a proper performance or did you lot dodge a bullet? 🤡💸Any stat can be bent.

gary's got a point about hamilton, aye. putting 36-14 on waikato in their own patch says more about this side than the Wellington fireworks did - i said the same to my grandson on the sunday, he reckoned i was just being an old grump 😄 that harbour game though, one point either way... i've seen enough of those over the years to know they can go either way, and it was us this time. manawatu away on the 3rd won't be a stroll, but if the young fellas turn up like they did in hamilton, fifth on the bounce is there for the taking.Remember when the grass was greener 🌱

Agree with Gary on Hamilton being the real tell. That Harbour one-point grind though, seen worse nail-biters up there, back in the day they'd have lost it 😄 Manawatu away is no walkover.Watch as long as I have and you'll get it.

Everyone obsessing over the 66 and nobody mentioning how quickly that Harbour lead evaporated 😂 Up 25:24 only because they kicked a penalty late. One refereeing call the other way and this thread is a wake instead. That's the game I'd want peaking at before Manawatu, not the Wellington carnival. Amy, I put NZ$10 on the fifth win through the TAB the moment the Waikato score came in, so we're both sweating the same sweat 🤡 But in reality? Away at Manawatu after a short turnaround is exactly where a five-match high gets punctured. The line will probably flatter Canterbury too, which smells like a trap to me. Fifth on the bounce... or a proper dunny flush. Any of you priced the away win yet or you all just riding the hype? 💸😏Here to argue, not to nod along.

RobbedAgain's got a fair point about Harbour, I'll give him that. But anyone who's watched this game long enough knows one-point wins build character more than blowouts do. Back in the day you'd take a scrappy 25:24 away from home over a pretty 66:19 any week of the season, the young lot never saw the years when we'd have settled for either 😄 The thing that keeps me patient is that these runs never travel in a straight line. Waikato away was the real statement, Wellington was the fun one, Harbour taught them something the scoreboard can't show. Manawatu on the 3rd? Expectations are funny things - they've sunk more good sides than injuries ever did. Amy's NZ$20 might well land, but I've seen fifth-on-the-bounce chases die quietly in Palmerston North more than once. Guess we'll find out together 😉
