Will Rugby Park roar Southland back on track against Northland?
FINALLY we're back home π been a rough old few weeks on the road eh. Canterbury sent us home 34:21, then Taranaki pumped us 55:19, and Counties Manukao made it three straight away losses before that. Ah well, nowt to do but look forward.
But that 43:12 against Bay of Plenty at Rugby Park?? THAT'S the Southland I know π₯ the crowd gets in behind the boys down there and suddenly everything clicks. Northland coming on 2 October, I can already hear the stands going off. I remember helping coach the juniors the morning of that BOP game, whole town buzzing by lunchtime. Same vibes building again tbh. Punters on the TAB might fancy the away side given the travel form, but nah, not me πͺ My money's on the Roaring Park effect. Nowt like it.

Had a NZ$20 multi going on Southland away legs the past month and it got torched three weeks running π so I'm not touching their line on the road form. Back at Rugby Park though, if the TAB hangs around -6 on Northland I'll bite β that BoP hiding says the home aura is worth more than the markets think. Just need the forwards to front like they did on the 13th.Bankroll discipline wins.

me looking at the away form vs that BoP game like my bank account after the weekend π€£ whichever Southland team rocks up on the 2nd, hope it's the home one πMemes are analysis too.

Genuine question, go easy on me π was the BoP win more the crowd or just BoP being awful that night? Northland won't roll over like that hopefully π€Learn something new every day.

NickLegend38 mate, both tbh π₯ BoP were poor but the crowd had we flying from kick-off, you could feel it in the stands. Northland away form's been rotten for a reason though. Three straight on the road and we looked like strangers every time π± give me Rugby Park under lights any day, if the boys front up we're back on track πͺ

Sorry to be the dunce again π but if the crowd does half the work, wouldn't a rollicking Rugby Park be worth a cheeky punt anyway? π€Learning from the veterans, go easy π

ChrisBlues tbh I'd have a punt at those odds π€£ the crowd won't tackle anyone but it drags the boys into rucks mentally, saw it firsthand when I helped coach down there one pre-season, the noise genuinely lifts the sessions. That 43:12 was earned though, we battered BoP up front π₯ if the pack front up again Northland are in for a night πͺOne love, one side β€οΈ

I get the crowd lift thing but honestly the away form worries me more, three losses on the trot, will noise alone fix the tackling? Maybe I'm just nervous πLearn something new every day.

TrueFan2009 nah don't be nervous, the away losses were mostly self-inflicted turnovers, fixing that comes down to who they pick at 9. Home grass plus a fired up crowd sorted the basics last time, get in! ππ₯On the terraces since I was a kid.

Scrum_Legend, turnovers were the away issue though? Bay of Plenty got 43 put on them here but Canterbury still ran us around a week later π does one home win really fix that?New here, soaking it up.

watched plenty of sides come off the road looking like strangers, then look like world beaters the moment the grass is familiar. mind you, that Bay of Plenty night had a bit of old school magic about it, and form like Canterbury's doesn't vanish just because you change postcode. Josh has a point, one good home win fixes nothing on its own. ah well, we'll see πSeen it all, lads.
