Time to dream, Harbour faithful
Word is someone NPC-calibre with a running game has quietly asked about what's happening at Albany next season π€ not naming names til I hear it from a second source, but if it lands our midfield suddenly looks very different. Who's your dream 12/13 lads?

βPub talk from an unnamed source, and half the thread's already sold season memberships? Name him or shelve it.Numbers are honest, takes aren't.

All for a bit of pub talk tbh π our midfield's been crying out for someone who runs the line hard instead of shovelling it sideways. If even half the rumour's true, get in! π₯ Reminds me of that game a few years back when a centre tore us apart and I thought why can't WE have him, ah well, nowt to do but dream big πͺπYou don't abandon your own.

Righto, before we all spend the rumour money, a quick reality check from the spreadsheet π. "NPC-calibre playmaker with a running game" covers a fair chunk of the midfielders in this competition, which is exactly why I don't buy a name being quietly attached to it yet. Age is the first filter for me - we've been burned before by paying experience money to a 29-year-old who's already peaked, when the actual gap in our 12/13 jersey is a 23-25 year old we can build two or three seasons around. Second filter is logic: any NPC-calibre centre who can actually break the line has Super interest, so if he's genuinely sniffing around Albany, the honest question is why nobody up the ladder has locked him in. Usually the answer is fitness history or a defensive weakness, and there's a nuance there worth knowing before we crown him the saviour.Numbers > vibes.

BadBeat's got a point, "running playmaker" describes half the comp. That said, I'll happily daydream: a genuine line-breaking 12 and our midfield stops being a sideways shuffle. Count me skeptical till there's a name, mind β I've heard bolder claims over a pint at that same Albany pub.Sample first, conclusions after.

Seen this movie before, lads - back in the day we had a "done deal" second five-eighth from down south that fell over the week after the pub leaks started π took me three Bledisloe nights to get over that one. Time will tell, as the old boys used to say. If the name shows up at Albany wearing our colours, I'll happily eat my words.Seen it all, lads.

@Ultra88 ha, that old "done deal" from down south still stings tbh π three Bledisloe nights sounds about right for the pain. Even so I'm gonna dream a wee bit, a proper line-breaking 12 would fix HALF our problems, and if it falls over then ah well, nowt to do πOn the terraces since I was a kid.
